4 ASPECTS OF PEACE

John 14: 22-31

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

First, peace with God

Ro 5:1 ¶ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Being justified by faith he has peace with God.

God cannot be at peace with a sinner.

Justification takes away the guilt,

Jesus Christ is the great Peace-maker, the Mediator between God and man.

Ro 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Ro 15:13 ¶ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Eph 2:14 ¶ For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us];

:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace;

:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

:17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

We can have peace with God.

Second, peace from God

Ro 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called [to be] saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul used these words in his epistles PEACE FROM GOD

Peace: 1) a state of tranquillity

1a) Exemption from the rage and havoc of war

True peace can only come from God.

Text John 14: 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Peace does not come from an unstable world, the only thing that is stable is the ROCK of AGES.

He is the Rock that does not roll.

True Peace comes from God above.

Third, PEACE OF GOD

Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

An inward peace, when you have peace with God, you now obtain the PEACE OF GOD.

Have peace in Christ, while they have tribulation in the world.

He is the God of peace, not confusion

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Be careful for nothing The carefulness the apostle speaks of, is being anxious for worldly things,

Saints should not be anxiously, or in a distressing manner concerned for the things of this world but be content, whether they have less or more;

Nor be over pressed with what befalls them, but should cast their care upon the Lord, and carry every case to him, and leave it there:

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Fourth, Peace on Earth

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

One Day true Peace will come for Jesus is the PRINCE OF PEACE

Isa 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Lu 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Ps 72:7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Ps 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed [each other].

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isa 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isa. 11:1 ¶ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 ¶ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
