PSALMS 12:6-7 WHICH TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE ARE WE TO USE? 2-19-11

There are so many translations of the Bible out there today and more on the way, how can we be certain which one is the True Word of God?

Ø Listen as I read today’s text found in;

PSALMS 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Well we’re plainly told here that God will preserve His Word, He’ll see to it that His Word will always be availably, it can and will always be found, God will see to it, is what we find in our text,

--- thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

God will always have people in all ages to stand up for His Word and be ready to expose the Devil in his attempts to destroy it, by trying to change it.

Satan hates Gods Word and is out to corrupt it. He begin away back in Gen.3:1 as he was talking with Eve, he tried to place a doubt in Eves mind about Gods Word when he ask her, in

Gen.3:1 -- Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And then Satan contradicted Gods Word when he said in verse 4 -- Ye shall not surely die:

But God had already commanded Adam in chapter 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

-----------

I want to say right here that Eve was not yet created, so Adam had to have told her, its possible that Eve was not sure what God told Adam word for word, did Adam make it clear to Eve? Remember Adam was FORMED from the dust of the earth, and Eve was MADE from one of Adams ribs.

Gen.2: 21-22 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

But Satan had placed doubt in her mind as to what God had said, he has had over 6000 years of dealing with man, its called the wiles of the Devil.

He has not changed in the least, that’s to say that his objective has not changed, he has conjured up different tactics but his goal is the same, and his ultimate objective is to damn as many souls to hell as he possible can, and so he’s always leading people to rewrite Gods Word, Satan knows what Gods Word says in

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.--

2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus-

So Satan knows that no one can be saved apart from the true Word of God, that’s the reason, his always having misinformed people to write a new version.

These phony Bibles are always changing Gods Word, if the rapture don’t take place soon, these phony versions will not even resemble Gods Word, it’ll be just a religious looking book, as they are today, Satan is subtle, he is the father of lies Jesus said in John 8:.

------------------

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. And we’re certainly there today.

---------------

As the old saying goes, “the Bible doesn’t need to be rewrote, it needs to be reread”.

There are both internal and external evidences that the OLD KING JAMES Bible is truly God’s Word.

The internal evidences are those things within the Bible that testify of its divine origin.

1. One of the first internal evidences that the Bible is truly God’s Word is seen in its unity. Even though it is really sixty-six individual books, written on three continents, in three different languages, over a period of approximately 1500 years, by more than 40 authors who came from many walks of life, the Bible remains one unified book from beginning to end and without contradiction. This unity is unique from all other books and is evidence of the divine origin of the words, which God moved men to record.

2 Peter 1:19-21 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

-----------------

2. Another of the internal evidences that indicates the OLD KING JAMES Bible is truly God’s Word is the prophecies contained within its pages. The Bible contains hundreds of detailed prophecies relating to the future of individual nations primarily Israel, certain cities, Babylon, Rome, Nineveh and many others as well and also mankind. It tells us of nations that are scheduled to be destroyed and you can some of these in Ezkiel 38:-39:.

Other prophecies concern the coming of One who would be the Messiah, the Savior of all who would believe in Him. Unlike the prophecies found in other religious books or those by men such as Nostradamus, biblical prophecies are extremely detailed.

There are over three hundred prophecies concerning Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. Not only was it foretold where He would be born and His lineage, but also how He would die and that He would rise again. There is no logical way to explain the fulfilled prophecies in the Bible other than by divine origin. There is no other religious book with the extent or type of predictive prophecy that the Bible contains.

We can see, read and understand that these Prophecies to do with His 1st coming have come to pass exactly like the Bible foretold, therefore we have no doubt that the other Prophecies concerning His 2nd coming will surely come to pass as well, such as, one day He’ll set up His Kingdom after He destroys His enemies at Armageddon.

--------------

3. And the third internal evidence of the divine origin of the OLD KING JAMES Bible is its unique authority and power. While this evidence is more subjective than the first two, it is no less a powerful testimony of the divine origin of the Bible.

The Bible’s authority is unlike any other book ever written. This authority and power are best seen in the way countless lives have been transformed by the supernatural power of God’s Word. Drug addicts have been cured by it, homosexuals set free by it, derelicts and deadbeats transformed by it, hardened criminals reformed by it, sinners rebuked by it, and hate turned to love by it.

The OLD KING JAMES Bible does possess a dynamic and transforming power that is only possible because it is truly God’s Word in English for the English speaking people, and let me say the English is the most spoken language in the world.

--------------------------

Ø And there are also external evidences that indicate the Bible is truly the Word of God. One is the history-icity of the Bible.

Because the Bible details historical events, its truthfulness and accuracy are subject to verification like any other historical document.

Daniel interprets Nebuchadnezars dream in Daniel chapter 2:

Daniel tells him of 3 more Empires that were to come after his which was the Babylonian Empire, he told Nebuchadnezzar about the MEDO-PERSIAN, GRECIAN, and ROMAN Empires, and they came to pass just like Daniel had foretold they would, Daniel also foretold of another Kingdom.

Dan.2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; (the previous Empires Daniel just mentioned) the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. THE KINGDOM OF THE LORD JESUS- are there any reason or any thing that can stop it, Daniel was 100 percent right about the previous Empires, why would this One any different? We find out about all these things in our OLD KING JAMES Bible, the Word of God.

-----------------------

Ø And through both archaeological evidences and other writings, the historical accounts of the Bible

have been proven time and time again to be accurate and true. In fact, all the archaeological and manuscript evidence supporting the Bible makes it the best-documented book from the ancient world.

The fact that the Bible accurately and truthfully records historically verifiable events is a great indication of its truthfulness when dealing with religious subjects and doctrines and helps substantiate its claim to be the very Word of God.

-------------

Ø Another external evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word is the integrity of its human authors.

As mentioned earlier, God used men from many walks of life to record His words. In studying the lives of these men, we find them to be honest and sincere.

The fact that they were willing to die very painful deaths for what they believed testifies that these ordinary yet honest men truly believed God had spoken to them.

These men who wrote the New Testament, and many hundreds of other believers all knew the truth of their message because they had seen and spent time with Jesus Christ after He had risen from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; ---

Seeing the risen Christ had a tremendous impact on them. They went from hiding in fear to being willing to die for the message God had revealed to them. Their lives and deaths testify to the fact that the Bible truly is God’s Word.

-------------------------

Ø Final external evidence that the Bible is truly God’s Word is the indestructibility of this OLD KING JAMES Bible.

Because of its importance and its claim to be the very Word of God, this Bible has suffered more vicious attacks and attempts to destroy it than any other book in history.

From early Roman Emperors like Diocletian, through communist dictators and on to modern-day atheists and agnostics, the Bible has withstood and outlasted all of its attackers and is still today the most widely published book in the world.

Throughout time, skeptics have regarded the Bible as mythological, but archeology has confirmed it as historical. Opponents have attacked its teaching as primitive and outdated, but its moral and legal concepts and teachings have had a positive influence on societies and cultures throughout the world.

It continues to be attacked by pseudo-science, psychology, and political movements, yet it remains just as true and relevant today as it was when it was first written. It is a book that has transformed countless lives and cultures throughout the last 2000 years.

No matter how its opponents try to attack, destroy, or discredit it, the Bible remains; its veracity and impact on lives is unmistakable. The accuracy which it has been preserved despite every attempt to corrupt, attack, or destroy it is clear testimony to the fact that the Bible is truly God’s Word and is supernaturally protected by Him.

It should not surprise us that, no matter how the Bible is attacked, it always comes out unchanged and unscathed.

Jesus said, Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

-------------------------------------

The modern translations (RSV, ASV, NASB, NIV, NEV and even the NKJV) have one thing in common. They tend to agree against the KJV in omitting hundreds of words, phrases and entire verses.

These omitted words are not always out dated and seldom used words in modern English, the omitted words are words like “God” (omitted 66 times in the New King James Version alone—and even more in other modern perversions).

“God” is not an out of date word. Neither is “Christ”, “blood”, “virgin” or other frequently omitted words.

-------------------------

Westcott and Hort had a friend named Philip Schaff. He was the President of the Old and New Testament committees that formed the American Standard Version of 1901. He was a rank heretic and he advocated one world religion.

The University of Berlin call him “The theological mediator between East and West.” Schaff mocked Christians, saying, “They vainly imagine that they possess the monopoly on truth.”

He further stated, “The church must adjust…her doctrinal statements…to natural science.” Churchman brought Schaff before the Pennsylvania Synod for heresy. The Living Bible and NASB used Schaff’s 30,000 alterations to the Bible.

Schaff’s Parliament of World Religions, called itself “Babel.” It first met in Chicago in 1893. Schaff called it “the sum of my life and theological activity.” It set the New Age movement in motion.

From Schaff, we can get a clearer view of the agenda of Westcott and Hort. Schaff used their corrupt text to give us the ASV of 1901.

He followed their interpretation of theology and their view of “one world religion.

Since the days of Queen Victoria in the 19th century, when the sun never set on the British Empire to the rise of American might and global influence in the 20th century, English has steadily risen to become the most important international language.

It is taught as a mandatory second language in countries as far apart as South Korea and Israel, Germany and India, Russia and South Africa, Baharain and Taiwan, Spain and Sweden.

It is the primary international language in the fields of medicine, military science, technology, industry, trade, finance, and education.

Logic tells us that two opposite statements cannot both be true. For example, two contradicting Bible versions cannot both be the preserved Word of God. Therefore, if one version is true, the other is false.

We believe that the King James 1611 Version (KJV) is the preserved Word of God in the English language today.

Many of the basic doctrines of our faith are being attacked in the new versions.

The deity of Christ, the virgin birth, our blood bought redemption, salvation by grace through faith are all omitted (or badly watered down) in the modern versions.

If you possible can, try to listen next time as we’re going to revile the errors in the NKJV.
