Summary: God does not force man to worship, obey or serve Him; therefore the choice is ours!

IT’S TIME TO CHOOSE

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth…And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15. (NASB).

God has given man the freedom of choice. He does not force man to worship, obey or serve Him. Therefore the choice is yours!

I. You have a choice between eternal life and eternal damnation!

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” Deuteronomy 30:19-20.

II. You have a choice in your life style!

“By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.” Hebrews 11:24-26.

III. You have a choice as to the company you keep!

“Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her. And she said: ‘Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law. But Ruth said: ‘Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.” Ruth 1:15-17.

IV. God will hold you responsible for the choices you make!

”Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test your-selves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test? And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.” 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 (NIV)
