Summary: Is there such a thing as a "little White Lie" How God view the fib and little white lie.

Little White Lies?

Can there be such a thing as a “little white” lie; probably not. Children, are often attributed with little white lies, are not capable of knowing truth or lies. A five year old “fib” is not sin, but we are not children and yet we attempt to cover our deceptions as Little White Lies.

What is a lie and why is a lie so harmful? Anytime we state something or say something that is contrary to the whole truth, it is a lie. An act of deception is a lie. Remember Ananias and Sapphira? Their simple act of deception was a lie and they died because of their lie.

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, (2) And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. (3) But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? (4) Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. (5) And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. (6) And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. (7) And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. (8) And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. (9) Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. (10) Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.(11) And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

The scripture says great fear came upon all the church, I wonder why there was fear created by the death of Ananias and Sapphira? Could it because others had told things that were untrue? A certain fear of lying fell on ME because of reading about it.

All lies face condemnation. 1 Tim. 1:10 “For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

The individuals associated with liars constitute a Who’s Who in Hell, Whoremongers, defilers, menstealers and perjured persons. Not a very sociable group of people, and certainly not a first choice for your next door neighbor.

And then, Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

All liars will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. That lake of fire was waiting for Ananias and Sapphira. Is that lake waiting for you? Do you need to make a change in your life?

Have you heard the word? Romans 10:17. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of God? Hebrews 11:6. Have you repented of past sins? Luke 13:3. Have you confessed the Jesus is the Son of God? Matthew 10:32 and have you been buried in baptism for the remission of sins? Romans 6:5.

Today is the accepted day. Life is short, death is certain and eternity is forever. Are you ready?
