Summary: Christ is in you and you can live a life filled with the power of God.

Jesus Christ came into this world not only to die for us, but to make us able to do greater things through him. Several times we quote this verse but in reality we do not see it happen in our lives.

John 14:12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

Jesus said that because He was going to the Father, we would be able to do greater things. I believe we are living in the times when we are able to do greater things. Since the day Jesus was taken up into glory, it has been possible for the church to do greater things. This is not just in theory, just be reading the book of Acts we will be able to see the disciples moved in the power of the Holy Spirit and did greater things.

However, in today’s world we have gotten used to the saying “look unto Jesus, He is our healer, He will touch you and heal you.” If we take a look at some verses in the book of Acts we will be able to understand how we can move in the awesome power of God that is available to us.

The KEY to moving in the supernatural power of God is, understanding that God is with us and in us.

John 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father's name convince you.]

Jesus spoke to his disciples and told them that whatever he did or said was because of the authority of the Father who was IN him. Jesus also told the disciples that if they could not believe that, then they could just look at the miracles and know and be convinced that he Father was in him. He and the Father was ONE.

When we are born again, the Spirit of God comes and dwells inside of us. The Spirit of God is none else than God himself.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality).

So if we want to move in the supernatural power of God and touch lives around us, we need to understand and believe that GOD is IN us. We must be able to understand that the Father is in us, because we are now born again by the seed of the Word of God.

Jesus is the Word of God, Jesus is in the Father, the Father is in Jesus, Jesus and the Father are one. Therefore if Jesus is in us, we are one with Him – one with the Father.

Now if we can grasp that, things will begin to change radically.

Acts 3:1 NOW PETER and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (three o'clock in the afternoon),

3:2 [When] a certain man crippled from his birth was being carried along, who was laid each day at that gate of the temple [which is] called Beautiful, so that he might beg for charitable gifts from those who entered the temple.

3:3 So when he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked them to give him a gift.

3:4 And Peter directed his gaze intently at him, and so did John, and said, Look at us!

Notice that when Peter spoke to the man he said, “Look at us!” Today we hear the opposite, “Do not look at us, look at Jesus!” There is a reason why Peter told the man to “look” at them.

Peter understood that Jesus is with the Father and that he is NOW in them. That made things a whole lot different. If Jesus could do amazing miracles just because the Father was with him, then Peter could do greater things because Jesus was with the Father, and the Spirit of God was in him (Peter).

Peter not only told the man to look at them, but he also used the NAME of Jesus. Peter knew that in the Name of Jesus miracles would happen. Jesus told the disciple that when they used his name, things would happen.

Mark 16:16 He who believes [who adheres to and trusts in and relies on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him Whom it sets forth] will be condemned.

16:17 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;

16:18 They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.

Eye contact and the Name of Jesus used in conjunction will produce great results. For too long we have been telling people to look at Jesus and not at us, it is time we take the word of God and use it.

The Name of Jesus is powerful. Jesus did not leave us without AUTHORITY. Jesus said that he did not speak on his own authority, but on what he saw and heard the Father do. That is the same AUTHORITY we have if we use his NAME.

We have seen and heard what Jesus can do, so when we use his name we are stepping into HIS AUTHORITY – the AUTHORITY of the FATHER; great things are bound to happen.

Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept working with them and confirming the message by the attesting signs and miracles that closely accompanied [it]. Amen (so be it).

When the disciples SPOKE/PREACHED in the Name of Jesus, great things happened. When we speak/preach in the name of Jesus; great things will happen.

John 5:8 Jesus said to him, Get up! Pick up your bed (sleeping pad) and walk!

Jesus healed this man on the Sabbath just by telling him to get up, pick up his bed and walk – and the man walked. The religious people will always say that there is a particular time and place to be healed, but look at Jesus’ statement to them.

John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.

God has NOT stopped working as some think. People say that after creation, God rested. But Jesus says that the Father is still working……..even today!

The religious people not only have rules of when and how to be healed, they are against anyone being called the Son of God.

John 5:18 This made the Jews more determined than ever to kill Him [to do away with Him]; because He not only was breaking (weakening, violating) the Sabbath, but He actually was speaking of God as being [in a special sense] His own Father, making Himself equal [putting Himself on a level] with God.

Jesus Christ came to give us life – He dwells in us.

1 Corinthians 15:45 Thus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit [restoring the dead to life].

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.

2 Corinthians 4:11 For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus' sake, that the [resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.

When we understand that Jesus is in us and we are in Him, we can do greater works.

Jesus prayed that we be one. Not one with each other, but ONE with HIM – ONE with the FATHER.

John 17:21 That they all may be one, [just] as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe and be convinced that You have sent Me.

17:22 I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one [even] as We are one:

17:23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.

When Peter looked at the lame man, he knew who was in him; he knew that the Spirit of God was in him. That is why he said – “Look at us!”

Christ is in you; you are in Him. Go do the greater works. For Greater is HE who is in you than he that is in the world.
