VII. EXPLICATION:

Time of Writing of Gospel of John: Around 85-90A.D.

Bishops of Asia Minor requested John in his old age to write a gospel in response to Cerinthus, Ebionites, and other Hebrew Groups

3 Times That The Lord Cried:

1. Tears of Sympathy for Mary, Martha and Lazarus - John 11:35

2. Tears of Sorrow - Luke 19:40 Jesus wept over foretold destruction of walls of Jerusalem

3. Tears of Struggle - Hebrews 5:7 - in the Garden of Gethsemane

Luke 19:40

But Jesus answered, "I tell you, if my followers didn't say them, these stones would shout them."

Hebrews 5:7

While Jesus lived on earth he prayed to God, asking for help from the one who could save him from death. He prayed to God with loud cries and tears. And his prayers were answered because of his great respect for God.

VII. MAIN BODY:

Point #1: The LORD is Present In All Our Troubles:

A. Man of Sorrows - Isa 53:3

Isa 53:3 People made fun of him, and even his friends left him. He was a man who suffered a lot of pain and sickness. We treated him like someone of no importance, like someone people will not even look at but turn away from in disgust. (ERV)

Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not. (MKJV)

Psalms 35:13-15

King David under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit cried foretelling what would Jesus do:

Psa 35:13 When they were sick, I was sad and wore sackcloth. I went without eating to show my sorrow. (May my prayers for them not be answered!)

Psa 35:14 I mourned for them as I would for a friend or a brother. I bowed low with sadness, crying as I would for my own mother.

Point #2: The Lord weeps with us

Hebrews 2:16 Clearly, it is not angels that Jesus helps. He helps the people who are from Abraham.

Hebrews 2:17 For this reason, Jesus had to be made like us, his brothers and sisters, in every way. He became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then he could bring forgiveness for the people's sins.

Hebrews 4:15 Jesus, our high priest, is able to understand our weaknesses. When Jesus lived on earth, he was tempted in every way. He was tempted in the same ways we are tempted, but he never sinned. (ERV)

Romans 12:15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. (NLT)

Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs - February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011

1970 - Apple Founder, designed, developed and marketed Apple II Series

1980 - Conceptualized, designed, developed and marketed Macintosh

1985 - Resigned from Macintosh/Apple after losing power struggle with the board of directors

1986 - Executive Producer of Toy Story after acquiring computer graphics division of Lucasfilm, Ltd.

October 5, 2011 - died in California at age 56, seven years after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The whole world cried and weep because of Steve Jobs, Apple founder, creator or iphone, ipod and ipad, its not wrong to cry/weep for a person..

The World said:

10 Years Ago we had Steve Jobs,Bob Hope, and Johnny Cash.

Now we have no Jobs, No Hope and No Cash!

We have jobs because Jesus is our Jehovah Rapha, Healer

We have hope, because Jesus is the hope of our glory

We have cash, because Jesus is our Jehovah Jireh, Provider.

but when is the last time you cried for:

1. lost souls

2. people that rejected the gospel

3. scoffers

IX. CONCLUSION:

I'll close this with illustrations

A. Illustration A:

Tricycle

I read about a young boy. Who was sent by his mom to the corner store to buy a loaf of bread. He was gone much longer than it should have taken him. When he finally returned, his mother asked, "Where have you been? I’ve been worried sick about you."

"Well," he answered, "there was a little boy with a broken tricycle who was crying. So I stopped to help him."

The mom said, "I didn’t know you could fix tricycles!"

The boy said, "I can’t. I just stood there and cried with him!"

You don’t have to be good with words. Just being there to share someone’s pain and grief will be more appreciated than you’ll ever know.

B. Illustration B:

Counselor Who Never Said A Word

The Challenge:

After BSM, What's next?

1. We have the knowledge to share God's Words

2. We acquired via head knowledge the right attitudes

3. We know Matthew 28:19-20

C. Illustration C: T-TH-S Prayer for the Sick

Around 1988, from 1am-3am a fellow Pastor requested me to pray for someone sick in Quezon City, I'm already at Dasmarinas, Cavite,

that's Monday our day off in COP, so I said I will pray for him first thing in the morning come Tuesday, and added I usually pray T-TH-S for the sick, so I called that Pastor at 4am and was on my way to COP, Pastor said your prayers are no longer needed, he died at 3am.. The Holy Spirit told me, "may nalalaman ka pang T-TH-S." and it broke my heart and I wept, at the bus on my way to COP. That incident saved my life, never hesitated to pray for the sick again.. and was very guilty because somehow he died without even prayed for and Jesus was never shared to him..

Jesus is a model for all men: (Men's Night, Jesus Is Our Leader/Model and Lord)

1. masculine - Jesus is the Man, Alpha Male, man of all man - carpenter of stone, maso ang gamit, hindi martilyo

2. strong leader - Jesus can command the attention, obedience and the respect of 12 mighty mean - fishermen, taxcollector, sinners

3. Strong Personality/Not afraid of death - When He was about to be thrown to the cliff, He just walked right back at them, no one dared touched or pushed Him. (Luke 4:29-30)

4. Mighty/Powerful - He can command 2000 demons and they obeyed Him.

5. LORD/GOD - All creatures in Heaven, Earth, Sea, under the Earth and Under the Sea will someday bow down at His feet and will call Him, Jesus is Lord.

6. The One Who Died For Us, Our Lord, Master and Savior, He gave us a new life! He was never a martyr, He gave His life willingly, no one can ever take it away from Him.

.... Then He loudly cried in front of the Jews, Mary and Martha, Must Have been Humiliating.. but He did it to show concern/sympathy, all the more we do it and be like Him.

Concern

Sensitivity

Being Human

I CHALLENGE YOU AS MY FELLOW CLASSMATES/BROTHERS/SISTERS!

JESUS PARTICIPATES IN ALL OUR ACTIVITIES, EVEN WEEPING FOR THE ONE WE LOVED. Therefore DO THE SAME!!

Good Evening!
