# 22~ Twenty one -Twenty two ~Bible number meanings~ 3-24-12

The number TWENTY ONE stands for "THE EXTREME SINFULNESS OF SIN" it is found in our KJ Bible FIVE times, as (TWENTY AND ONE.)

I want to say once again that I obtained much of this information from Evangelist Ed Vallowe as well as many others.

Twenty one times in the Book of Kings it is said that Jeroboam the son of Nebat "made Israel to sin":

1Kings 14:16 And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.

15:26, 30, 34, -16:19, 26, -21:22, -22:52; - and then in

2Kings 3:3 Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin;-

10:29, 31, - 13:2, 6, 11, - 14:24, - 15:9, 18, 24, 28, - 17:21, - 23:15.

---------------------

There were twenty one major rebellions by the children of Israel that are recorded during their wilderness journey, most likely there were many more, but here God used that number to represent the EXTREME SINFULNESS OF SIN.

Thirteen, the number of depravity, sin and rebellion, and the number twenty one, are closely associated.

The symbolism of twenty one is the outgrowth of thirteen and pictures the fruit of that nature: "Rebellion and depravity" (13) plus a "new beginning" (8) equal twenty one, picturing ones "new beginning" into the depths of satanic depravity.

Also THIRTEEN multiplied by TWENTY-ONE equals 273 the number that needed to be redeemed with FIVE shekels per person.

Numbers 3:46 And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen (273) of the firstborn of the children of Israel, --

On the 21st day of the first month, the last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, God executed His final judgment against Pharaoh and his armies -- the symbol of the extreme wickedness of sin.

The 21st day of the 7th month, the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles, portrays the end of the Millennium when Satan and the demons are temporarily loosed, and right away they lead people into war and rebellion. Then God executes His final judgment against Satan and the demons -- the ultimate in the extreme wickedness of sin -- Rev. 20:1-3--7-10.

In II Timothy 3:2-5 Paul lists TWENTY-ONE things which men would be doing in the last days, and he warns against such.

"In the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be (1) lovers of their own selves, (2) covetous, (3) boasters, (4) proud, (5) blasphemers, (6) disobedient to parents, (7) unthankful, (8) unholy, (9) with-out natural affection, (10) truce breakers, (11) false accusers, (12) incontinent, (13) fierce, (14) despisers of those who are good, (15) traitors, (16) heady, (17) high-minded, (18) lovers of pleasure, (19) more than lovers of God, (20) having a form of godliness, (21) but denying the power there-of: from such turn away."

----------

In Matt. 23: we find recorded the twenty one characteristics of a hypocrite. Here we find the EXTREME SINFULNESS OF SIN and the Lord is condemning these people.

1. Demand respect as teachers, (vs. 2) -----2. Teach, but do not practice, (vs. 3)

3. Demand service; not give it. (vs. 4) ---4. Seek praise of men. (vs. 5)

5. Parade their religion, (vs. 5) ----- 6. Seek chief banquet places, (vs. 6)

7. Seek chief positions in places of worship, (vs. 6)--8. Glory in personal attention, (vs. 7)

9. Glory in titles, (vs. 7) ------10.Rob men of truth and life. (vs. 13)

11. Reject truth and life. (vs. 13) -------12.Take advantage of widows, (vs. 14)

13. Exhibit long prayers, (vs. 14)--14. Are zealous to win men to their sect but not to God. (vs. 15) --15.Root and ground converts in hypocrisy, not in God. (vs. 15)

16. Profess to be the only guide in religion, but are blind to truth, (vs. 16-22)

17. Magnify those parts of religion from which they receive most personal gain and honor. (Vs. 16-22)

18. Strain at gnats and swallow camels; stress minor details and omit the fundamentals of religion, (vs. 23-24)

19. Glory in bodily cleanliness, but live in moral filth, (vs. 25-26)

20. Exhibit outward religion and self-righteousness and ignore inward holiness in life and conduct, (vs. 2, 7 & 28)

21. Pretend to be more righteous than their fore-fathers. (Vs. 29-33)

This number is mentioned only five times in our KJ Bible but always reveals the EXTREME SINFULNESS OF SIN. It’s revealed as TWENTY AND ONE.

=====================================================================

* And now let’s take a look a few things to do with the meaning of the number

"TWENTY TWO"

One of the things TWENTY TWO depicts is "LIGHT"

The word "LIGHT or LIGHTS" is found 228 times in the OT. & 119 times in the NT.

-----

TWENTY TWO is the number that is connected with LIGHT

In Matt. 5:15-16 Jesus said,

"NEITHER DO MEN LIGHT A CANDLE AND PUT IT UNDER A BUSHEL, BUT ON A CANDLESTICK AND IT GIVETH Light to all in the house. Let your LIGHT so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

The saved are called the children of LIGHT. Paul said in I Thess. 5:5 Ye are all children of the LIGHT.

----------

The Word of God is called a lamp:

Ps. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Prov. 6:20 My son, keep thy father’s commandment-- 22-23 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. 23For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Therefore it is the light by which we are to live.

-----------------

When FOURTEEN for salvation is added to EIGHT for the New Birth, the sum is TWENTY-TWO, LIGHT. = salvation - New Birth

---------

In the book of Acts Paul gives his testimony to do with THE LIGHT he saw on his way to Damascus to persecute Christians, as he tells of his experience he magnifies the light each time he tells of it.

Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Acts 21:39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people. 40And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying, --

Acts 22:1-2 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you. (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith--

verse 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.

-----

In Acts 22:4-11, Paul was telling of what he experienced on the Damascus road. He told about the great light that shone from heaven. He said he heard a voice saying unto him, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?" In these verses the name Saul occurs for the TWENTY-SECOND time.

-------

Acts 26:1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

verse 13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Notice; in Acts 9:3 it was a light from heaven.-- And then in

Acts 22: 6 it had become a great light-- and then in

Acts 26: 13 it had become a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun

Paul’s enthusiasm grows each time he tells of the time he was saved, and dear heart you and I should also be excited about our salvation. It’s only by the grace of God that most of us are not in the torments of hell. I am so glad that God saves old sinners.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;--

That is the only kind that He saves.--if some one wants to say that their not a sinner, then that person can not be saved.

---------------

In Numbers 3:39 a total of 22,000 Levites were numbered to serve in the Priestly work of the Tabernacle. They were to give and minister LIGHT to the people.

And allow me to kindly point out that Israel is the only people in the world that truly ever had PRIESTS, and they were all from the tribe of LEVY.

The number THOUSAND means the "Glory of our Lord" and TWENTY-TWO is the number of LIGHT.

Therefore, the 22,000 Levites were to reveal to the people the LIGHT of the GLORY OF THE LORD.

You and I, the saved people in this age are to ADMINISTER the LIGHT of the World to the hearts of people.

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Notice what Jesus said here; Jesus said, As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

When He is no longer in the world, then believers become the light of the world.

Matt. 5:14 Ye are the light of the world.

====================================

* Also the number twenty two, being the double of eleven, has the significance of that number in an intensified form, -- ELEVEN meaning, "Judgment and disorganization" especially in connection with the Word of God.

-----------

The number twenty two is associated with the worst of Israel’s kings:

Jeroboam in 1 Kings 14:16 And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin. ----- 20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years:-

And Ahab in 1 Kings 16:29-30 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. 30And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him.

Each reigning 22 years.

----------------------------

Eleven derives its significance by being an addition to Divine order, responsibility, law and testimony (Divine order number TEN), and ELEVEN is a subtraction from Divine governmental rule (number TWELVE).

These are two of the three ways in which the written Word of God is corrupted -- the third being alteration.

Deut. 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it,

Deut.12:32 What thing so ever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure-

-------------

Rev. 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Today the book stores have many so called Bibles, but it’s impossible that their all correct, there is only one for the English speaking people, and that’s the good old K J 1611.

I could go into lengthy detail to this fact and maybe some other time we will. Allow me to give you just one at this time;

* The KJ Bible says in

Rom.1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;--

* The NIV says in

Rom.1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation for every one who believes-- believes what? --I believe water is wet, I believe to much food will make us fat; I believe we need a new President, but none of these things will save me.

Notice, it leaves out "of Christ" --the gospel of Christ--it simply says "the gospel"

Please be aware how the devil by passes CHRIST, left Him completely out, wonder what the so called Bibles will say in that verse 20 years from now? I think it would be wise to stick with the never changing WORD, I’m sure there’s lot’s of people that would argue with me about this matter, but save your time and effort if you should E-mail me because it will just go into file THIRTEEN. It’s my sincere hope and prayer that I can help people, I certainly don’t want to make enemies, and we have enough of them already.

* Some more interesting things in regard to the number TWENTY TWO, the Hebrew

Alphabet is made up of TWENTY TWO letters -- which are used to compose the Word of God.

From Adam to Isaac are TWENTY TWO generations.
