Attention:

An informative e-mail I received recently:

PLEASE READ! PLEASE READ! Frightening news about the shampoo you use!!

YOU NEED TO READ THIS. DON'T DELETE IT BEFORE READING!

I don't know WHY I hadn’t figured this out sooner!

When I wash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body, & printed very clearly on the shampoo label is this warning:

"FOR EXTRA VOLUME & BODY."

NO WONDER I‘ve been gaining weight!

Well! I have gotten rid of all that shampoo & I am going to start showering with DAWN DISH SOAP instead.

Its label reads:

"DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE."

Problem solved!

If I don't answer the phone

I'll be in the shower!

Safe passage was realized/experienced by all on the ark.

All on the ark escaped/weathered/waited out/were saved from the Flood’s destruction.

Salvation was realized by those on the ark.

How was salvation realized by those on the ark?

When was salvation realized by those on the ark?

3 ways salvation is realized.

1—Salvation is realized when...

God DETERMINES(:1-5)

Explanation:(:1-5)

:1—“Then God remembered Noah, & every living thing, & all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, & the waters subsided.”

Had God forgotten about Noah? No. However from man’s perspective there was no communication from/with God since He had ushered them onto the ark & closed the door, until the time God first acted to remove the water.

God not only “remembered” Noah but He was also concerned for “every living thing” that was “with” Noah on the ark.

Upon God’s taking new notice of those on the ark, He now causes “a wind” “over the earth.” This “wind” appears to have been instrumental in causing the waters to “subside.”

*This is rather descriptive of man’s separation from God as well as a way of describing our helplessness apart from Him. We may be unaware of God’s determinations & we may be anxious about our situation, but God is always aware of our need as well as His need to fulfill His design & plan. A a result of the Cross of Christ, He has given His people the permanently indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. It is always possible to hear from God...& if all He speaks to us is that He is in control then we are meant to draw comfort from His being in control!

God is on His perfect schedule responding in His perfect time with care.

Both sources of the floodwaters were “stopped”. The flow of water stopped from “the fountains of the deep”(springs) & from “the windows of heaven(rain).” It is further stated that the “rain”(torrential) was “restrained” at God’s bidding.

“Stopped”—rko saw-kar'—Niphal Imperfect—1) To shut up, stop up—1a) (Niphal) to be stopped, be shut up. Strong—a primitive root; To shut up; by implication, to surrender. Used 4X.

Upon God’s restraining the water sources & bringing the wind, the waters then began to recede.

After 150 days of covering the earth(7:24), the water began to recede.

“Ararat”—jrra ar-aw-rat'—Ararat = “The curse reversed: Precipitation of curse.” 1) A mountainous region of eastern Armenia, between the river Araxes & the lakes Van & Oroomiah. Used 4X.

:5—“And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.”

10/01 of Noah’s 600th year the water levels had dropped minimally over 15 cubits(22.5 ft.) so that mountain tops became exposed(7:20) above the waters. Thus they were settled in Ararat for ~ 2 full months before the peaks became visible.

Argumentation:

Most assume that their ‘salvation’ is built on a feeling they have about themselves & that they themselves determine. But they neither realize the damning nature of their sin nor their need for salvation from it.

Gal. 4:1-7—“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians & stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, & if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Rom. 9:19-24—“You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor & another for dishonor? What if God, wanting to show His wrath & to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, & that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?”

Rom. 11:1-7—“I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “LORD, they have killed Your prophets & torn down Your altars, & I alone am left, & they seek my life”? But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, & the rest were blinded.”

Eph. 2:4-10—“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), & raised us up together, & made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, & that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

So then the question we must all ask is ...“Is my “salvation” Determined by God? or is there something or someone else that I depend upon for it?”

Do I trust the belief of secular science...that everything around me, I & my path in life are all determined by randomness, chance & self-determnation?

Or do I trust that my life is the product of God’s foreknowledge, design & determination?

Job 42:1-6 “Then Job answered the LORD & said: “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. Listen, please, & let me speak; You said, ‘I will question you, & you shall answer Me.’ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust & ashes.””

2Thes. 2:16-17—“Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, & our God & Father, who has loved us & given us everlasting consolation & good hope by grace, comfort your hearts & establish you in every good word & work.”

Heb. 13:8-10—“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, & forever. Do not be carried about with various & strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.”

Eph. 1:3-14—“Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy & without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He has made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom & prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven & which are on earth--in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

Man SUBMITS & RESPONDS(:6-14)

Explanation: (:6-14) We must serve God until...

:6—“So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.”

After forty days of the ark’s having settled on the mountaintop in Ararat, Noah opened the “window,” of the ark which he had built.

It is interesting to note that Noah was told to make a “window” of a seemingly different character in 6:16(rhu tso'-har). This is merely expressing different aspects of the opening.

“Window”—rhu tso'-har—N. m.—1) Noon, midday—1a) Noon (as specific time of day), 1b) Noon (in simile as bright of happiness, blessing). OR—N. f.—2) Roof—2a) meaning dubious. Strong—from 06671; A light (i.e. window): Dual double light, i.e. Noon. Used 24X.

From—rhu tsaw-har'—V.—To glisten; To press out oil.

“Opened”—xtp paw-thakh'—1) To open; 2) To carve, engrave. Strong—a primitive root; To open wide (literally or figuratively); specifically, To loosen, begin, plough, carve.

“Window”—Nwlx khal-lown'—1) Window (piercing of the wall). Strong—A window (as perforated). Used 31X.

:7—“Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to & fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.”

Noah sent a raven but instead of permanently staying out of the ark it kept repeatedly returning to the ark to Noah. It did this until the water was dried from the earth. The raven would not leave the security of the ark without a suitable “dry” place to nest.

“Sent”(See :8)—xlv shaw-lakh'—Piel Imperfect(usually expresses an "intensive" or "intentional" action or a "repeated" or "extended" action)—1) To send, send away, let go, stretch out—1c) (Piel)—1c1) To send off or away or out or forth, dismiss, give over, cast out, 1c2) To let go, set free, 1c3) To shoot forth (of branches), 1c4) To let down, 1c5) To shoot. “Dried up”—vby yaw-besh'—Qal Inifinitive—1) To make dry, wither, be dry, become dry, be dried up, be withered. Strong—a primitive root; To be ashamed, confused or disappointed; also (as failing) To dry up (as water) or Wither (as herbage).

:8—“He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.”

Noah “also” sent a “dove.” He sent it specifically to see if the water had dried up. The same is not stated of the raven but obviously the raven is less picky regarding its nesting locations. The dove was a female.

“Sent”(See :7)—xlv shaw-lakh'—Piel Imperfect(usually expresses an "intensive" or "intentional" action or a "repeated" or "extended" action)—1) To send, send away, let go, stretch out—1c) (Piel)—1c1) To send off or away or out or forth, dismiss, give over, cast out, 1c2) To let go, set free, 1c3) To shoot forth (of branches), 1c4) To let down, 1c5) To shoot. The dove returned to the ark having not even found a dry spot on which to rest “her foot.” This is because”the waters” were still covering the majority of the earth.

Noah personally took the dove in to himself.

“Found”—aum maw-tsaw'—Qal Perfect—1) To find, attain to. Strong—a primitive root; properly--To come forth to, i.e. Appear or exist; transitively--To attain, i.e. Find or acquire; figuratively--To occur, meet or be present.

:10—“And he waited yet another seven days, & again he sent the dove out from the ark.”

Noah waited -7- more days & sent the dove again. Evidently Noah suspected that the waters were nearing a point of having receded enough to safely exit the ark.

The Hebrew for “Waited” is not the typical word for patient waiting. This gives us insight to Noah’s anxiousness. Yet he did not move ahead of God’s leading. He indeed waited yet he did it with high anxiety as in the throes of childbirth! Noah was ‘chomping at the bit’ as it were...he had ‘cabin fever.’

“Waited”—lwx khuwl—Qal Imperfect—1) To twist, whirl, dance, writhe, fear, tremble, travail, be in anguish, be pained—1a) (Qal)—1a1) To dance, 1a2) To twist, writhe, 1a3) To whirl, whirl about. :11—“Then the dove came to him in the evening, & behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; & Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.”

This time the dove was gone longer not returning until the evening. When she returned, she brought back to the ark an “olive leaf” or possibly foliage from an olive tree. The “olive leaf” had been “freshly picked” so that it was becoming obvious to Noah that fruit trees had survived & were healthy.

The “olive leaf” let Noah know that the water was gone from the earth.

“Evening”—bre bre—te ayth—1) Time—1a) Time (of an event), 1b) Time (usual), 1c) Experiences, fortunes, 1d) Occurrence, occasion. Strong—Time, especially (adverb with preposition) Now, when, etc. bre eh'-reb —1) Evening, night, sunset. Strong—Dusk.

“Olive”—tyz zay'-yith—1) Olive, olive tree. Strong—An olive (as yielding illuminating oil), the tree, the branch or the berry.

“Leaf”—hle aw-leh'—1) Leaf, leafage. Strong—A leaf (as coming up on a tree); collectively--Foliage.

“Knew”—edy yaw-dah'—Qal Imperfect—1) To know—1a) (Qal)—1a1) To know—1a1a) To know, learn to know, 1a1b) To perceive, 1a1c) To perceive & see, find out & discern, 1a1d) To discriminate, distinguish, 1a1e) To know by experience, 1a1f) To recognise, admit, acknowledge, confess, 1a1g) To consider, 1a2) To know, be acquainted with, 1a3) To know (a person carnally), 1a4) To know how, be skilful in, 1a5) To have knowledge, be wise. Strong—a primitive root; To know (properly, to ascertain by seeing); used in a great variety of senses, figuratively, literally, euphemistically & inferentially (including observation, care, recognition; & causatively, instruction, designation, punishment, etc.).

:12—“So he waited yet another seven days & sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.”

Noah again “waited” yet another 7 days. Thus far, since the ark has come to its resting place, its inhabitants have had to wait 54 consecutive days— 40 days(:6), 7 days(:10), & 7 days(:12).

After this last 7 day waiting period, Noah then sent the dove, but this time she never returned to the ark. Thus Noah knew the earth was ready for the remainder of the animals & his own household.

“Waited/Stayed”(See :10—lwx khuwl)—lxy yaw-chal'—Niphal Imperfect—1) To wait, hope, expect. Strong—a primitive root; To wait; by implication--To be patient, hope.

“Anymore”—dwe `owd—Subst.—1) A going round, continuance; Adv.—2) Still, yet, again, besides. Strong—properly, Iteration or continuance; used only adverbially (with or without preposition)--Again, repeatedly, still, more.

:13—“And it came to pass in the six hundred & first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; & Noah removed the covering of the ark & looked, & indeed the surface of the ground was dry.”

:14—“And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.” ”

This is a concise reiteration of :6-12. Noah had to “remove” the covering of the ark to see the land(:6, 13). On Noah’s 601st birthday, he saw that the water was gone from the surface of the earth but the ground was evidently still saturated, because :12 implies(dove did not return) & 13 specifies that “the earth” itself “was dried” completely(Qal Perfect) “in the 2nd month.”

Noah himself removed the covering (nondescript) from the ark so that he saw with his own eyes that the “ground” was dry.

7:11-16—02/17/600 of Noah=Water began & the ark was shut.

07/17/600 of Noah=Ark rested on mountain.

01/01/601 of Noah=Waters were dried from the earth.

02/27/601 of Noah=Earth was “dry” enough for habitation by the animals, Noah & his household.

Argumentation:

Christian conduct says something about the One we attempt to honor! It does not save you but the salvation changes the source of your conduct.

Eph. 4:21-5:1—“if indeed you have heard Him & have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, & be renewed in the spirit of your mind, & that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness & holiness. Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry, & do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, & evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you. Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.”

Eph. 5:2-11—“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us & given Himself for us, an offering & a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication & all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ & God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, & truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”

3—Salvation is realized when...

God RELEASES(:15-19)

Explanation: (:15-19) Enter into fullness of salvation

:15—“Then God spoke to Noah, saying,

:16—““Go out of the ark, you & your wife, & your sons & your sons’ wives with you.”

God spoke again to Noah after the ground was dry. There is no record of God speaking with Noah since He had earlier commanded them to enter the ark. They rode out the total destruction of wickedness without hearing God’s voice.

Previously God had told them to enter the ark & now—at last(See :10—“waited”)—Noah was told to leave the ark with his family.

“Spoke”—rbd daw-bar'—Piel Imperfect—1) To speak, declare, converse, command, promise, warn, threaten, sing—1c) (Piel)—1c1) To speak, 1c2) To promise. Strong—a primitive root; perhaps properly, To arrange; but used figuratively (of words)--To speak; rarely (in a destructive sense)--To subdue.

“Go out”—auy yaw-tsaw'—Qal Imperative—1) To go out, come out, exit, go forth. Strong—a primitive root; To go (causatively, bring) out, in a great variety of applications, literally & figuratively, direct & proxim.

:17—““Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds & cattle & every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, & be fruitful & multiply on the earth.””

:18—“So Noah went out, & his sons & his wife & his sons’ wives with him.”

:19—“Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, & whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark.””

It was also Noah’s responsibility to see that the animals were “brought out” from the ark. He was to do this so that the animals might again “abound” upon the earth., This they were to do by fulfilling their God-ordained directive to be “fruitful & multiply.”

Thus Noah exited the ark with “his sons, his wife & his sons’ wives.”

Also the animals of all the “families” present, exited the ark. “Families” had been produced among the animals during their time on the ark.

One day—at the end of all things dealing with this earth—Rapture—Tribulation—1000 yr. reign of Christ—Great White Throne judgment...Christians will enter the fullness of their salvation! We will be released to experience God as we never can in this flesh!

“Bring out”(See :16—“Go out”—Qal Imperative)— auy yaw-tsaw'—Hiphil Imperative—1) To go out, come out, exit, go forth. Strong—a primitive root; To go (causatively, bring) out, in a great variety of applications, literally & figuratively, direct & proxim.

“Abound”—Urv shaw-rats'—1) (Qal) To teem, swarm, multiply. Strong—a primitive root; To wriggle, i.e. (by implication)--Swarm or abound.

“Fruitful”—hrp paw-raw'—1) To bear fruit, be fruitful, branch off. Strong—a primitive root; To bear fruit (literally or figuratively).

“Multiply”—hbr raw-baw'—Qal Perfect—1) Be or become great, be or become many, be or become much, be or become numerous. Strong—a primitive root; To increase (in whatever respect).

“Families”—hxpvm mish-paw-khaw'—1) Clan, family. Strong—A family, i.e. Circle of relatives; figuratively--A class (of persons), a species (of animals) or sort (of things); by extens.--A tribe or people.

Enter into fullness of salvation

Mat. 25:13-30—““Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants & delivered his goods to them. “And to one he gave five talents, to another two, & to another one, to each according to his own ability; & immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went & traded with them, & made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went & dug in the ground, & hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came & settled accounts with them. So he who had received five talents came & brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good & faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “He also who had received two talents came & said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good & faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “Then he who had received the one talent came & said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, & gathering where you have not scattered seed. ‘And I was afraid, & went & hid your talent in the ground. &Look, there you have what is yours.’ “But his lord answered & said to him, ‘You wicked & lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, & gather where I have not scattered seed. ‘So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, & at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. ‘Therefore take the talent from him, & give it to him who has ten talents. ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, & he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. ‘And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping & gnashing of teeth.’”

1Cor. 4:1-5—“Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ & stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness & reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.”

Rev 21:1-8—“Now I saw a new heaven & a new earth, for the first heaven & the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, & He will dwell with them, & they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them & be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true & faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha & the Omega, the Beginning & the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, & I will be his God & he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, & all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire & brimstone, which is the second death.””

Salvation is both present & future:

Present:

2Cor. 5:20-6:2—“Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

Jn. 3:3, 5-7—“Jesus answered & said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.””.....“Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water & the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, & that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’”

Future:

Rom. 13:7-11—“Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” & if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.”

*1Jn. 3:1-3—“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; & it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

Rom. 8:16-25—“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, & if children, then heirs--heirs of God & joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans & labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”
