Hiro Onoda was born on March 19, 1922, in Japan. When he was 20, he was enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Army. No Surrender: My 30 year war

Onoda trained as an intelligence officer in the commando class of Nakano School. On December 26, 1944, he was sent to Lubang Island in the Philippines. He was ordered to do all he could to hamper enemy attacks on the island, including destroying the airstrip and the pier at the harbor. Onoda's orders also stated that under no circumstances was he to surrender or take his own life.

Within a short time of the landing, all but Onoda and three other soldiers had either died or surrendered and Onoda, who had been promoted to lieutenant, ordered the men to take to the hills.

Onoda continued his campaign, initially living in the mountains with three fellow soldiers (Private Yūichi Akatsu, Corporal Shōichi Shimada and Private First Class Kinshichi Kozuka).

Towards the end of 1945 leaflets were dropped by air with a surrender order printed on them from General Tomoyuki Yamashita of the Fourteenth Area Army. They were in hiding over a year at this point, and

4 It’s Aint Over Until God’s Over 1/15/2012

this leaflet was the only evidence they had the war was over. Onoda's group looked very closely at the leaflet to determine whether it was genuine or not, and decided it was a hoax.

One of the four, Yuichi Akatsu, walked away from the others in September 1949 and surrendered to Filipino forces in 1950 after six months on his own.

In 1952, letters and family pictures were dropped from aircraft urging them to surrender, but the three soldiers concluded that this was a hoax. Shimada was shot in the leg during a shoot-out with local fishermen in June 1953, following which Onoda nursed him back to health. On May 7, 1954, Shimada was killed by a shot fired by a search party looking for the men.

Kozuka was killed by two shots fired by local police on October 19, 1972, when he and Onoda burned rice that had been collected by farmers, as part of their guerrilla activities, leaving Onoda alone. Though Onoda had been officially declared dead in December 1959, this event suggested that it was likely he was still alive and search parties were sent out, though none was successful.

On February 20, 1974, Onoda met a Japanese college dropout, Norio Suzuki, who was traveling the world and was looking for "Lieutenant Onoda, a panda, and the Abominable Snowman, in that order".[4] Suzuki found Onoda after 4 days of searching. Onoda and Suzuki became friends, but Onoda still refused to surrender, saying that he was waiting for orders from a superior officer who had originally given him orders.

Suzuki returned to Japan with photographs of himself and Onoda as proof of their encounter, and the Japanese government located Onoda's commanding officer, Major Taniguchi, who had since become a bookseller. He flew to Lubang where on March 9, 1974, he finally met with Onoda and fulfilled the promise made in 1944, "Whatever happens, we'll come back for you,"

Onoda was relieved from duty, but never surrendered. His sword, with his Arisaka Type 99 rifle still in operating condition, 500 rounds of ammunition and several hand grenades were also turned over, as well as the dagger his mother gave him in 1944 for protection.

Though he had killed some 30 Filipino inhabitants of the island and engaged in several shootouts with the police, the circumstances were taken into consideration, and Onoda received a pardon from President Ferdinand Marcos.

For 30 years he would not quit until the same man who put him there got him out.

There is no quit in the child of God

Some here today have conceded defeat to your enemy

Gehazi (visionary, perceptive) was a servant to prophet Elisha

He had gift he was able to understand

He told Elisha about the shunemites barreneness and the woman had a child

The little boy eventually dies and gehazi was the 1st to go and lay a staff on the body of that boy and Elisha raises the boy

naaman (captain of the host of the king of Assyria ) was directed by Elisha to dip 7times in the Jordan and was healed of leprosy he then offered to the prophet gifts that elisha refused

and then naaman left But he hadn't gone far when Gehazi, servant to Elisha the Holy Man, said to himself, "My master has let this Aramean Naaman slip through his fingers without so much as a thank-you. By the living God, I'm going after him to get something or other from him!" And Gehazi took off after Naaman.

Naaman saw him running after him and jumped down from his chariot to greet him, "Is something wrong?"

22 "Nothing's wrong, but something's come up. My master sent me to tell you: 'Two young men just showed up from the hill country of Ephraim, brothers from the guild of the prophets. Supply their needs with a gift of 75 pounds of silver and a couple of sets of clothes.'"

23 Naaman said, "Of course, how about a 150 pounds?" Naaman insisted. He tied up the money in two sacks and gave him the two sets of clothes; he even gave him two servants to carry the gifts back with him.

24 When they got to the fort on the hill, Gehazi took the gifts from the servants, stored them inside, then sent the servants back.

25 He returned and stood before his master. Elisha said, "So what have you been up to, Gehazi?"

"Nothing much," he said.

26-27 Elisha said, "Didn't you know I was with you in spirit when that man stepped down from his chariot to greet you? Tell me, is this a time to look after yourself, lining your pockets with gifts? Naaman's skin disease will now infect you and your family, with no relief in sight."

Gehazi walked away, his skin flaky and white like snow. Greedy and a liar.

Stage 4 leprosy means death is soon to follow as body parts rot limbs away, infection sets in gets in the blood stream and the victim dies.

2Ki 5:27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. He was marked off. When we mark some off god restores them.

He is still a deliverer, healer and waymaker

This seem to be the end for this young prophet in training this young man of vision. Sometimes even the judgment of god seems to be permanent when it is temporary.

He should have been dead within a year. He was not to be in contact with anyone. In 2 kings 8, 4 years later we seen gehazi back on the scene in the prescence of a king and described as the servant of the man of god
