Summary: Some people can't make up their mind and by doing that, they have already made a decision.

Former president Ronald Reagan once had an aunt who took him to a cobbler for a pair of new shoes. The cobbler asked young Reagan, "Do you want square toes or round toes?" Unable to decide, Reagan didn't answer, so the cobbler gave him a few days. Several days later the cobbler saw Reagan on the street and asked him again what kind of toes he wanted on his shoes. Reagan still couldn't decide, so the shoemaker replied, "Well, come by in a couple of days. Your shoes will be ready." When the future president did so, he found one square-toed and one round-toed shoe! "This will teach you to never let people make decisions for you," the cobbler said to his indecisive customer. "I learned right then and there," Reagan said later, "if you don't make your own decisions, someone else will."

Two men who lived in a small village got into a terrible dispute that they could not resolve. So they decided to talk to the town sage. The first man went to the sage's home and told his version of what happened. When he finished, the sage said, "You're absolutely right." The next night, the second man called on the sage and told his side of the story. The sage responded, "You're absolutely right." Afterward, the sage's wife scolded her husband. "Those men told you two different stories and you told them they were absolutely right. That's impossible -- they can't both be absolutely right."

The sage turned to his wife and said, "You're absolutely right."

Seems like there are more people who can’t make a decision, or they waver between one opinion or another.

Some of the reasons people are indecisive is:

Fear-John 12:42-43-Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

People are afraid to make a decision, afraid they are going to make the wrong decision, or going to make someone one mad with the decision they have made!

There are people who want to follow Christ or become a Christian, but they are worried what their friends will say, or spouse will say.

Time-Acts 24:24-25-And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”

Two classifications of people making decisions…I need more time or there’s plenty of time.

The greatest tool of Satan is NOT convincing people there is no God. Most people are too smart for that

The greatest tool for Satan is not convincing people that the Bible isn’t God’s Word, most will accept that it is.

The greatest tool for Satan is not convincing people that Jesus is not the Savior or that they don’t need a Savior, though some believe that.

The greatest tool of Satan is convincing people that while there is a God, and we have his Word and they need a Savior, and his name is Jesus, but that there is PLENTY of TIME!!!

Then there those people who want someone else to make a decision for them, that way if it is a bad decision, they don’t have to take responsibility.

Place The Blame On Others- Pilate tried to Place it on the People

Matthew 27:17-18-Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.

Matthew 27:24-25-When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”

And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”

Adam and Eve tried to blame their decision on The Serpent but they were responsible for their actions

Genesis 3:11-13-And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

When it comes to the decision of accepting Christ as their Savior, most people don’t understand that not choosing is rejecting Him.

Not making a choice is the same as choosing to reject Christ, the outcome is the same.

They can use the excuse of they have plenty time, or they can do that when they are older, or when I get straightened out, I will.

Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3:18-“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God
