Message Point: God’s message of hope is still valid for everyone who believes today.
Focus Passage: Luke 2:8-20
Introduction:
I. Not about the Messengers
a. Angels – created beings with purpose to serve God
b. often messengers
c. this time sent to announce a peace mission
II. Not about the Men to whom the Message was given
a. Shepherds were lowest part of social structure
b. Would have thought God would have announced to kings and Caesar or at least priests
c. Certainly weren’t waiting around to hear from God
III. It is about the Message
a. God’s intention to make peace with all people
b. The Savior is born according to prophesy
c. There is a sign to prove what God declares
