Why not, be Spirit filled?
You know you don’t have to be, my oldest sister told me, when I first started going to a spirit filled church.
You don’t have to be spirit filled to go to heaven she said and a lot of other people have given the same advice to others over the years.
And she was right, you don’t have to be filled with the spirit to go to heaven.
You know, the accuser has been telling the saints the same thing forever and ever, trying to quench the spirit.
Its just gibberish, you can’t even understand what a person is saying when their speaking in tongues.
And he would be right you can’t, unless it happens to be your native language that was being spoken.
Acts 2:6 NKJ.
6. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
It was a miracle, they all heard in their own language that day.
There have been times I’ve heard of instances, that missionaries spoke their heavenly prayer language in a foreign land
and it was the very language of the people they were trying to help, it was a miracle that day to.
It’s a miracle every time one speaks in tongues, because your speaking Gods language,
Imagine that, direct communication with God through the Holy Spirit!
It drives the devil crazy when it happens,
Because he wants to make us think, that we should want no part of it, if we don’t understand it,
When the real truth is this, he is the one who doesn’t understand it, not one single syllable of it.
You know how it drives someone crazy, when they walk into a room and they think someone is talking about them and they don’t have any idea what was being said,
that’s how it is with the accuser and the gift of tongues!
Back in the day, do you remember when telephones were party lines,
Certain people (though they would never admit to it) eavesdropped on every ones conversation and well you can imagine the rest.
that’s how the accuser is with our normal language, he’s the biggest eavesdropper of all time,
looking for every little opportunity to gain the advantage on us, so he can confront and condemn us with it later,
but not with tongues, our heavenly prayer language, cause it leaves him flat footed in the dark, doing nothing but wondering what was said.
Praise God for His wonderful Gift to us!
Do you think that God would give us a gift that wasn’t good for us?

11. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
James 1:17 NKJ
17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Only the devil could try to turn around something so wonderful, So powerful, so awesome,
As being filled with the presence of God, through the Holy Spirit and make it seem wrong.
When Jesus said “Greater works than these shall you do, because I go to My Father”
Do you suppose that, that was going to be possible according to our own abilities and our own will power?
No way! would that ever be possible, unless we could have access to the same power He did, working within us leading the way!
Acts 10:38 NKJ.
38. how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Which brings us to another miracle of Being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues,
Is the healing characteristics of it, not only for others you pray for, but for yourself as well!
Ill. The Physical Benefit of Speaking or Praying in Tongues
God has made provision for you and I to be whole, to be well and to have access to His healing process.
There is a study that has been done by Dr. Carl Peterson, M.D. (the husband of author and evangelist Vickie Jamison Peterson).
This Study revealed that there is an available healing power that can be released from our own bodies for our own benefit.
Dr. Carl Peterson, M.D. worked on this study at ORU in Tulsa, Oklahoma a few years ago.
Being a brain specialist he was doing research on what the relationship was between the brain
and praying or speaking in tongues, some amazing things were discovered.
Through research and testing he found out that as we pray in the Spirit, or worship in the Spirit,
(in our heavenly prayer language) there is activity that begins to take place in our brain.
As we engage in our heavenly language the brain releases 2 chemical secretions,
that are directed into our immune systems, giving a 35 to 40 percent boost to the immune system.
This promotes healing within our bodies.
Amazingly this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in humans
and is only activated by our Spirit led prayer and worship. (imagine that, Rpt.)
God is the restorer of all things, as we exercise our life in the "Spirit" by speaking in our heavenly language that He has put within us,
we are touching the supernatural power of God and we are letting Him restore part of what was lost.
Now science has proved the process and you and I can turn this healing process on by our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Just one more great reason to be filled with the Holy Spirit and commune with the Father in your "Heavenly Language."
According to the Holy Spirit, speaking through the apostle Paul:
"He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself" (1 Corinthians 14:4 NKJ).
He went on to say, We always thought of the edification as only spiritual edification, which is great and always needed,
but Christian psychiatrist Carl R. Peterson, M.D. describes physical edification also! Isn’t God amazing?
Let me ask you a question, Do you think, whom someone’s only objective is to steal, kill and destroy your life,
Would want you to get a hold of this powerful gift from God???
Its no wonder, he fights the believer tooth and nail,
when it comes to the Gift of the Holy Spirit, that is available to every believer!

I’m going to say that again, because I believe it deserves to be repeated. Amen?

If Eli Lilly could bottle and sell that, they’d make a fortune and all along it has been available for the seeking and asking!

Who Jesus is,
And what was accomplished when He came on the scene as the Promised One,
through the life changing message of grace He brought to us and all of the benefits that have been extended to us from it! Amen??
Who is worthy to receive all the gifts that the cross afforded us??
None of us on our own, only our relationship with Jesus,
Qualifies us and makes us worthy to receive what God the Father wants to give to us, through the Gift of the Holy Spirit!
Thank You Father, Son and Holy Ghost!!!
There are so many more miracles of the Holy Spirit to be shared, but the last one I want to share today is,
Intercession, how the Holy Spirit works in our lives, intercedes for us and helps us!
Romans 8:26-27 NKJ
26. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
We’ve all been there, knowing that we needed to pray, but not knowing what to pray, whether it was for ourselves, or for someone else.
Has anyone ever heard someone request prayer for an unspoken need, that needed to be met with urgency and wondered how to pray for it?
Has anyone ever had an emergency happen to them or around them and didn’t have time to call the prayer chain at church?
Has anyone ever had something happening, planned or unplanned in their lives,
that didn’t know exactly or how to pray for what was about to take place?
Just how and or what, does someone pray in those circumstances for immediate and maximum results?
In the Spirit, with the Holy Spirit helping in our weaknesses!
For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
There are going to be times, when we will not be able to feel the presence of God a certain way, like we do at church,
And were not going to have our favorite worship song sang and the Glory all around of others praying, seeking and touching God.
Where we feel like we can approach God, at just the right time and ask Him for the needs we have.
Its in those times, we need to be ready to reach out and touch Him, NOW!
I was listening to Joseph Prince and he told of someone he knew quite well, who was a spirit filled Christian
That was driving on a busy highway and all of a sudden, a semi was swerving ahead of them and was about to tip over on them.
The driver with Gods divine intervention, maneuvered out of the way just at the right time and the semi barely missed them.
However the car behind them it hit and he immediately pulled over and told his wife to pray in the spirit NOW!
When he got to the car and went back to the wreck, he could see that the drivers side was completely smashed and the engine was shoved back into the drivers seat.
However, the driver was sitting in the passengers seat, completely unharmed.
And he said his friend told him at that very moment, the Lord told him,
this is what happens when you pray in the spirit NOW! Praise God!
The Apostle Paul told us, to stir up the gift that God has made available to us!
2 Tim. 1:6-7 YLT.
6. For which cause I remind thee to stir up the gift of God that is in thee through the putting on of my hands,
7. for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind;
He’s talking about the Holy Spirit, that Timothy had already received.
Did you know, that of all the gifts of the Spirit made available to us,
The only one we can initiate at will, is the gift of tongues?
Why? Because there is power in the tongue!
That’s why once we have received the gift of the Holy Spirit, were reminded to stir it up, use it and be fluent in it!
The Holy Spirit only intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered on our behalf, when we use the gift!
Paul knew both the power and the benefit of speaking in tongues, that’s why he said in,
1st Cor. 14:18 NKJ
18. I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all;
He was talking about his personal prayer life, this is the guy who wrote a major portion of the New Testament!
TBS. we should seek the gifts of the Spirit, I encourage you today, if you don’t already have the gift of the Holy Spirit,
No, you don’t have to have it, but knowing how much God intended and designed it for you,
Why wouldn’t you want it?
Seek God for it today, don’t wait any longer!
Not because I say to seek it out, but because God says to seek it out and all the benefits that come with it!
