It's all about Gods love and mercy.

Psalm 116:1 I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. 2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. 4 Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. 15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Hayward Morris lost his battle with cancer Tuesday night but, won a victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Hayward passed from this life of pain and suffering to one of great joy and comfort.

Can you imagine the reunion he had with his son Tony and others relatives and friends that trusted Christ as their Saviour!

Brenda and I visited Hayward on a regular basis when we found out he was in Hospice. I really looked forward to those visits because he was such an interesting person. As a matter of fact he reminded me a lot of my Dad.

Hayward was a...(tell it like it is)...(had seen the world)....(was honest), with the (highest of integrity) type of guy.

He told us he retired from the arm forces as a Command Sergeant Major. I said, "that's quite of an accomplishment Hayward." He said, "I think so." He also was a supervisor at a local mill in Mt Airy for several years. He and I talked about farming and gardening and compared notes many times. He was a very smart individual, didn't seem like his age of 87 hindered his mental capacity or distorted his memory one bit.

I ask Hayward about his relationship with God. He was a guy that seem to meditate on an answer to a question before he would say anything...then he said "I'm not sure." After hearing the facts of God's word and his thought through questions, my friend Hayward Morris accepted Christ because Brenda and I heard his confession with our own ears.

A couple of days later Hayward told us he had never experienced peace like the peace he has now. Hayward told us he prayed in his private time and just a few days before his death he told us that God would speak to him.

It's never too late as long as you have a breath! The Psalmist said in verse 3 of Psalm 116 The sorrows of death compassed me. But, God has defeated death through Jesus Christ our Lord! So, Verse 4 says Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. God is waiting upon sinners to call upon Him. Why?

Because....5 Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Our God is merciful...our God is righteous...our God is still in the saving business. You don't find mercy in manmade gods....you don't find true peace in fancy buildings and tinker toy religions.

You find true peace when you call upon the name of the Lord and He places His Spirit inside you and gives forgiveness of sins. Why does the Bible say Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints? Because we have received mercy...it's nothing we did...it's all about God...it's all about Jesus love for the world.
