Anointed To Speak

SPEAK TO OTHERS

If we live in the Spirit we need to walk in the Spirit. We need to be careful what we say. Words are vehicles which can bring life, but they can also do a lot of harm. That is why our words must be in line with God’s Word.

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. - Colossians 4:6

Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. - Ecclesiastes 5:2

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. – James 1:26

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips. - Psalm 141:3

What we say can affect the eternal destiny of others. We are anointed to speak life and that places a responsibility on us to choose our words at all times. We are anointed vessels of God and we cannot just say what we want. We have to speak words which line with God’s Word. We have to choose our words wisely.

I always teach believers to count to three before they respond to anything verbally, because our sinful nature has been trained to lash out to others especially when we are criticized or opposed. What we say can never be retracted or undone – it is written in stone and will be recorded throughout eternity.

The Bible says that we must put a guard in front of our mouths. What does that mean? It is the anointing that is on your lips. What does it do? Before you speak, you should think. The anointing can help you to think before you speak.

I meet many Christians who say to me “I just say it like it is.” Or “I just speak my mind.” Well, that’s unfortunate, you shouldn’t just say it like it is and you shouldn’t just speak your mind. We have no right to inflict injury onto others with our mouths.

Our minds are anointed and should be renewed by the Spirit of God. The Spirit will teach you how to think and what to say. Not everything that comes into your head should come out of your mouth. If somebody looks untidy do not say, “You look so untidy. You should dress better.”

We do not have the right to speak to others like that. That is the way the flesh responds. But anointed, gentle, Spirit-filled children of God do not make those kinds of comments. There are better ways of saying the same thing without hurting others.

We who are Spirit-filled and anointed are different to the world and our speech should reflect that. People will judge us by what we say.

We must choose our words wisely. The words that we have within us carry life and will produce life because they come from the Spirit.

TOUCH NOT THE LORD’S ANOINTED

We have to be careful when we speak about anointed men and women of God because we do not know what their true relationship is with the Lord.

Then He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?" So the anger of the Lord was aroused against them, and He departed. - Numbers 12:6-9

Those who came up against Moses were punished because Moses was a man who had a face to face relationship with God. We do not know the nature of the relationship others have with the Lord. It is dangerous to slander someone who has a face to face relationship with God and the words that we might speak against that person comes against the anointing of God and can result in problems.

Do not touch my anointed ones and do my prophets no harm. - Psalm 105:15

We are living in a unique season and we have to watch what we say about others because we do not really know who we are talking about.

What did they say about Moses? They criticized his choice of wife. It had nothing to do with them, yet they chose to slander an anointed man of God who happened to have a unique relationship with God.

We tend to appoint ourselves as judges of God’s anointed and make life difficult for them, not knowing that what we are saying brings judgment upon our own heads.

The Bible tells us that God dealt severely with those who dared to speak against Moses because of his special relationship with the Lord. God knows how to look after His anointed ones.

SPEAK TO YOURSELF

Fear is opposite to faith and when we allow fear to influence us to speak negative things, we will reap the fruit of those words.

If the devil can convince you to speak death over your situation, chaos and darkness will rule over you. If he can convince you to confess that you are a failure, you will fail.

Negative words bring negative things. What are they? It could be premature death, sickness, broken marriage, failures as a parent, failure in business, and many other things.

Positive words bring about positive things. What are they? They could be the right partner, health and healing, prosperity, successful marriage and family, successful career, and many more.

God brings things about by using His mouth and He speaks words of life into creation. He was not moved by the chaos and darkness at creation.

God has given us this same tool to create things. We are the only created beings on earth who can speak creative words. No other created creature on earth has this facility. Besides God, we are the only created beings who can create things with our mouths, because we are created in the image of God.

Our brains are created with a speech function which enables us to speak. Without that speech function we would not be able to create our environment. For example, animals do not have a speech function and therefore cannot change their environment with words. They are victims of their circumstances. God has not created us to be victims, but to be more than victorious in every situation.

We are anointed so that we can shape our world and our future with creative words. There are three aspects to applying Godly speech that will change your world.

1. To remove

There are things in our lives that have to be removed through the spoken Word. They are mountains that must be cast into the sea by our words. These mountains can be sin, strongholds, or bondages that can be removed from our lives by creative words because God’s creation responds to words.

2. To change

There are things that we need to change. There are things that are in our lives that do not line up with God’s Word and we should bring them up to standard by changing them and by speaking words by faith in the name of Jesus.

3. To add

There are things that are missing in our lives.

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. - Matthew 6:33

This means that there are things that could be missing in our lives and God wants us to ensure that these things are added. This could be healing, possessions, and blessings. There is nothing wrong with possessions as long as possessions do not possess us. There is nothing wrong with being blessed by God because God desires to bless His people.

AN ANOINTED GENERATION

We have been given a mandate by God to speak. What we say has an effect in the spiritual and natural realm.

"For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up," Says the Lord of hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this," Says the Lord of hosts. "Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. - Malachi 4:1-6

What was prophesied by Malachi is very applicable to the 21st century church and the present-day generation of believers.

Malachi exhorts us to prepare the bride of Christ in the last days because God’s people are going to rise up with a fresh anointing and will trample the wicked with the soles of their feet.

Malachi prophesied that God would send Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great eventful day of the Lord. He implies that the Spirit of prophesy is going to be evident throughout the earth so that Christ’s bride can be prepared before the destruction comes.

In these severe circumstances, the Spirit of prophecy will bring direction to the armies of God and the spirit of Elijah will be released upon the earth to bring the righteous together. God will bond three powerful generations together and they are going to trample the wicked under their feet.

Historically, God has always used one specific generation to fulfill His purposes for any particular season. But in the last days God is going to knit the hearts of three generations together – the old, the middle-aged, and the young.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. - Acts 2:17-18

The generation that lives in the last days will use words which will be more powerful than the sword. If we are going to trample the wicked and push back the armies of Satan, we are going to do it with the Word.

Our mouths will be anointed to speak salvation to the ends of the earth.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. – Matthew 24:14

ANOINTED TO SPEAK MIRACLES

God is anointing this generation to speak miracles. This generation is going to speak and things are going to happen.

Start learning to use the right words because you are anointed. Expect miracles to happen when you speak because you are part of a generation who is anointed to speak.

Your words carry power and you need to speak by God’s Spirit and release anointed words to all impossible situations and expect miracles to happen.

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. - Mark 11:23

This is so powerful and we are going to see this passage of Scripture become relevant to our generation.

We should direct our fire power to the mountains that exalt the kingdom of darkness. There are things that exalt themselves against God and should be cast into the sea because they do not belong in our lives.

There are things that are mountainous that stand against us that no previous generation has had to face. God is anointing us to speak words and these mountains will be removed in Jesus name.

ANOINTED TO SPEAK HEALING

And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. - Matthew 9:20-22

Before this sick woman touched Jesus, she spoke words of faith.

This generation must speak when they see the source of God’s power. They need to know where their miracle is and move towards the source of this power by faith.

This woman could not heal herself but she told herself to push through the crowds and touch the garment of Jesus.

ANOINTED TO SPEAK TO GOD

But he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no-one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. - 1 Corinthians 14:2

We are anointed to use God’s language. It is the language of the Spirit which is the language of power. When we pray in tongues, we are speaking to God and have access to all the miracle surprises that are hidden in the Spirit realm.

Do not allow anyone to criticize you when you pray in tongues, because you are not speaking to them, you are speaking to God.

This generation needs to pray in tongues to release the mystery solutions onto the earth in the last days.

There are treasures that are locked up in the Spirit realm that are only meant for you and the key is tongues. These are the secret plans or mysteries that are hidden from each of us. When we speak in tongues God unlocks the treasures in heaven. There are secrets that God has for every one of us individually and one of the ways of accessing those secrets is to pray in the Holy Spirit.

Speaking in tongues allows us to pray for things and situations we do not know about. There are a lot of dangerous threats to our lives that we do not know about. But praying in tongues helps us to pray for these things also and we can trust God to step in and help us in these unknown areas. If we do not know about these things we will not know how to pray for them.

ANOINTED TO SPEAK TO YOURSELF

But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.” - Luke 15:17-18

Jesus tells us this story of the prodigal son, who took all his inheritance from his father, left home, and wasted everything.

When he had spent everything, he had to find work and the only job he could find was feeding pigs. He was not given enough to feed himself and ate what the pigs ate.

The Bible tells us “he came to himself.” It was a wakeup call. He then spoke to himself and instructed himself to go back to his father.

When you are eating with pigs, you have nobody to talk to but yourself.

There are anointed words which we can speak to ourselves that will propel us out of our mess. The church today finds itself largely in a compromised situation. But this is a generation that is going to rise up out of the ashes. But they need to become sick and tired of the situation they find themselves in and use anointed words to speak to themselves so that they can return to the Father.

When you speak to yourself you shut all other voices out. There are three sources of voices that come to you – either from the spirit of Satan, your flesh, and the Holy Spirit. Your spirit has a lot to say and it will always say what God would say to you. When you speak from your spirit and you speak to yourself, it as if God is speaking to you. We can be the voice of God to ourselves.

God has placed anointed words in our mouths so that we can start the process of healing and restoration.

There are words that God uses. Find out what they are and place them in your mouth. God’s Words are anointed.

ANOINTED TO SPEAK LIFE

Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, 'Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!'” - Ezekiel 37:11

Ezekiel was faced with an impossible situation. God showed him a cemetery with the expectation of an army of dead bodies to be resurrected to life by receiving muscle tissue, flesh, and skin. These people were dead for a long time because their bones were dry.

God is showing this generation impossible situations with the promise of healing and new life. But in order for the miracles to be initiated, He wants us to respond by faith.

Ezekiel had to be specific and was told to speak to the dry bones. He spoke to the situation that God showed him.

God is faithful and will show us a picture of certain situations and we must be willing to speak to those situations prophetically. That means our words can take those things that have no potential and give them a future again.

Many times we do not receive our miracle because we are unwilling to admit what the problem is.

We cannot expect to deal with issues if we cannot admit that there are issues. We need to deal with things and it starts by being honest and speaking out the truth of the situation, such as: “Yes, I do have a drinking problem.” or “Yes, I see that my finances are in a mess.” Or “Yes, I am destroying my marriage.” You need to be honest.

When we begin to prophecy over impossible situations by the Spirit, miracles will begin to happen. Impossible marriages will have a new hope. Sick bodies will become healthy again. We are anointed to speak life to those things that are dead.

But do not forget that there is a process of restoration that requires us to speak in stages. That is what Ezekiel did. As he spoke, things began to happen. When he saw that, he spoke again until the dry bones received breath. Do not stop speaking until there is life. Do not settle for half measures or for second best. God always does a perfect work.

When Jesus spoke to the blind man, his healing was partial. It was a process. Jesus spoke a second time and he became 100% whole. When you see God begin to work, do not settle for anything less than 100% success.

This is the generation that speaks. The words that we speak have power and God is going to use us to transform communities and nations.
