1 Samuel 10:25 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Then Samuel told the people what the rights and duties of a king were. He wrote them down on a scroll and placed it before the Lord. Then Samuel sent the people home again.

1 Chronicles 29:29 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

All the events of King David’s reign, from beginning to end, are written in The Record of Samuel the Seer, The Record of Nathan the Prophet, and The Record of Gad the Seer.

B. Purpose of writing: Account of the history of Israel from 12th to 10th B.C.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. "Today the Lord will conquer you"

1. GOD is a Giver, He gave His Only Begotten Son to us, so we can have life and live it more abundantly. What is else left there to give? nothing.. if GOD gave already His Excellent, Best.. the world can ever received, it's undeserved GRACE. Thru Him, we are all more than conquerors, the issue is not winning or losing, but the real issue, is if we can receive it by faith. (Read Hebrews Chapter 11)

John 3:16 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 1:14 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

Mark 12:6 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

until there was only one left—his son whom he loved dearly. The owner finally sent him, thinking, ‘Surely they will respect my son.’

Romans 5:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

Romans 8:37 (New International Version)

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

2. If GOD did not withheld His Only Begotten Son to us, then He will freely give to us the desires of our hearts. Our desires should be surrendered to the LORD, it's one of our cares that weighs us down, and when it's altogether surrendered to the LORD GOD, then He will give us holy desires and thus fulfill His desires thru us.

Romans 8:32 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Psalms 37:4 (New International Version)

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

B. "and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals"

1. Once GOD opens the door to us, grab it it's ours. GOD already proven it, the way to greatness, is by being a slave of everyone, that's why GOD has a servant's heart, He opens the door for us, when did we opened a door to someone else? No we always open our own doors, but not with GOD, GOD treats us kings.. He opens door for us that no man can shut, if the door were opened by men, or human being, then any human being can close it at our face but not with GOD, it's opened by the Divine only a Divine can close it and that only One is GOD alone. We don't need our own strength for we will use GOD's not ours. We will consume GOD not our own resources.

Revelation 3:8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close. You have little strength, yet you obeyed my word and did not deny me.

Colossians 4:3 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains.

2 Corinthians 2:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

When I came to the city of Troas to preach the Good News of Christ, the Lord opened a door of opportunity for me.

2. It's for our own food and nourishment

Psalms 78:25 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

They ate the food of angels! God gave them all they could hold.

2 Corinthians 9:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

3. The LORD JESUS CHRIST conquered the world and He's victorious not for Himself but for us, so we can be more than conquerors. Who would think that there's a conqueror hiding in a cave at Adullam? Don't judge the person or place because what we consider trash GOD considered a treasure.

Micah 1:15 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

O people of Mareshah, I will bring a conqueror to capture your town. And the leaders of Israel will go to Adullam.

1 Samuel 22:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

So David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there.

C. "and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel!"

1. Glory belongs to GOD Almighty alone. Don't take the glory for yourself. In this nearing CHRISTmas, don't give the glory to santa claus and the gifts under the christmas tree, give glory to GOD, because it's His Son's birthday not santa claus not the christmas tree's birthday. Start giving GOD the Glory, for it belongs to Him unless you want to die a horrible death.

Revelation 19:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, “Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.

Revelation 14:7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Fear God,” he shouted. “Give glory to him. For the time has come when he will sit as judge. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all the springs of water.”

Revelation 4:11 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Revelation 7:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

They sang, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

Acts 12:23 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.

D. GOD can save us without man's resources.

"And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear."

1. Let go and let GOD. Not until we let go of our problems, hardships and difficulties in life, can GOD work with us and thru us. We have to let it go and let GOD. It's not our problems, hardships and difficulties anymore but it's GOD's

2. Cast all your cares upon Him. All our worries and cares are unbearable, of course, because it's still in our hands, try letting it go and letting GOD have it or own it, for He cares about us, and in GOD's hands as an exchange are victories, success and prosperity, GOD will let you have that, if you let GOD have all your worries, pains, miseries and cares and even curses, remember CHRIST became a curse for us so we can have an abundant life (rich and satisfying life) as an exchange.

1 Peter 5:7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Galatians 3:13-14 (New International Version)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

Galatians 3:13-14 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.

John 10:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

3. Stop carrying our own yoke but carry the yoke of GOD. Faith is not laziness, faith is based on our declaration to work and this time we will work with GOD. We have to approach GOD, come to the LORD JESUS CHRIST and we have to give all our weariness and heavy burdens to Him, where did it come from? It came from the devil or most probably from us, if we continue to say "it's mine" rather than "it's GOD's" therefore it's really mine, no wonder we are heavily stress by it. But after doing that, there's another yoke which will teach us and give us rest for our souls, and that's to carry the yoke of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, be His slave. JESUS's slaves have rest, the devil's and yourself's slaves don't have rest, rest can only be found in GOD.

Matthew 11:28-29 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Psalms 62:1 (New International Version)

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him.

Psalms 62:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him.

4. When did a shepherd boy taught a giant strong warrior how to fight? It's seen here. "but not with sword and spear."

If we can remember, when did a carpenter taught a fisherman on how to catch a fish? (Luke 5:4-5)

Luke 5:4-5 (New International Version)

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."

Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."

Another...

When did a carpenter taught a fisherman how to walk on water?

Matthew 14:26-31 (New International Version)

When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.

But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

"Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."

"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"

Needless to say, when did you last saw a fisherman trying to be taught by a carpenter regarding on swimming lessons and much more, walking on the water. Because it's impossible with men, but with GOD nothing's impossible.

Luke 1:37 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For nothing is impossible with God.”

Luke 18:27 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”

Genesis 18:14 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Numbers 11:23 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

E. GOD is the one fighting and He will give the enemies to us

"This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

1. Whenever you have problems and you're one with the LORD JESUS CHRIST, don't say it's your problem, it's GOD's problem and as a very, very good master, He provides well for His slaves and that's us. And as a very, very, infinitely good Father, He provides very, very, infinitely well for His children, and that's us. Don't say it's your battle in life, but say it's GOD's battles, in the declaration part, you're already a winner. GOD already won, the battle has been won thru us.

2 Chronicles 13:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

So you see, God is with us. He is our leader. His priests blow their trumpets and lead us into battle against you. O people of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed!”

1 Samuel 17:47 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and he will give you to us!”

1 Samuel 26:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Surely the Lord will strike Saul down someday, or he will die of old age or in battle.

Psalms 24:8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.

Psalms 144:1 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Praise the Lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.

Proverbs 21:31 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Rest in the fact that GOD already won things for you, so act like you're more than a conqueror by faith. As GOD is, so you are in this world.

Romans 8:37 (New International Version)

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
