“And it came to Pass”
Luke 1: 27-31
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Matthew 1: 18- 25
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Theme:
The human mind cannot explain (defend, excuse) the plan God has for our lives, but by faith we must see it through. It may not look right through human eyes, it may not feel right in the human heart but I say to you, Trust God.
There is no other story that can be equated with this one; there is only one begotten son. There is only one virgin who gave birth to the son of God. The angels bare record and rejoice in heaven and in earth.
Birth is the emergence of a baby or other young from the body of its mother; the start of life as a physically separate being.
Matthew:
19. Joseph being a just man (fair, unbiased and impartial) , was going to end the relationship with Mary before it began “ But God” How many of you know for a fact that your life is in his hand.
Biological: deals with the genetic makeup of the child. The spirit of Jesus Christ is Heavenly; it is of his father God. God is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. He was born with his father’s nature. Hereditary; John 10: 30 I and my father are one.
Natural: There was nothing artificial about the birth of Jesus Christ. Mary carried him full term, she felt him growing inside her womb, She gave birth naturally. Jesus was seen in the manger. Eight days later he was circumcised and brought to the temple as was common in the Jewish practice.
Uncommon: unusual and exceptional
The announcement of his coming birth came by the angel from heaven (messengers) themselves. Heaven is where his father is. Mary was chosen, blessed of all women to carry and give birth to Jesus Christ. Celebration took place in heaven and in earth. The bible tells us that heaven rejoices when a man is born again.
This is not a fairytale, or makes believe; it is truth and it came to pass.
Jesus is our Saving Grace
Those of you who are under the sound of my voice;
We must not do away with God’s plan for our life privately, as Joseph was thinking to do because God will intervene. He will salvage (recover, rescue and retrieve) the situation and plan that he has for your life.
That is why we call him our (saving Grace).
His style of recovering man was like no other.
Jesus our saving grace, Jesus our amazing grace,
He came all the way from heaven down, to save a wretch like you and me. The word of the Lord said, he shall save his people from their sin.
And it came to pass.
This is why; Amazing Grace shall always be my song of praise for it was grace that bought my liberty.
