Again and again the Lord had sent his prophets and seers to warn both Israel and Judah: “Turn from all your evil ways. Obey my commands and decrees—the entire law that I commanded your ancestors to obey, and that I gave you through my servants the prophets.”

But the Israelites would not listen. They were as stubborn as their ancestors who had refused to believe in the Lord their God.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Hezekiah trusted the LORD

"Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the GOD of Israel."

Hezekiah's trust in the LORD should or must be like the trust of CHRISTians to GOD, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Trusting GOD gives us perfect peace. Perfect peace is turmoil and destruction around you but still you are in peace. Perfect Peace from GOD is sourced from the internal (who is inside of us) not in external things.

Proverbs 3:5 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

John 14:1-2 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in GOD, and trust also in me.

There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?

Isaiah 26:3 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Isaiah 50:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Who among you fears the Lord and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your GOD.

B. No king like him in his faith

"There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before or after his time."

Our goal is to excel in our faith, spiritual life, because we live by faith not by sight. Success is defined in the bible as the LORD GOD is with us, that's success not having money or many properties.

2 Kings 18:5-7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the GOD of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before or after his time.

He remained faithful to the Lord in everything, and he carefully obeyed all the commands the Lord had given Moses.

So the Lord was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did. He revolted against the king of Assyria and refused to pay him tribute.

Psalms 22:8 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Is this the one who relies on the Lord? Then let the Lord save him! If the Lord loves him so much, let the Lord rescue him!”

John 12:36 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

Put your trust in the light while there is still time; then you will become children of the light.” After saying these things, Jesus went away and was hidden from them.

2 Chronicles 32:24-26 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

About that time Hezekiah became deathly ill. He prayed to the Lord, who healed him and gave him a miraculous sign.

But Hezekiah did not respond appropriately to the kindness shown him, and he became proud. So the Lord’s anger came against him and against Judah and Jerusalem.

Then Hezekiah humbled himself and repented of his pride, as did the people of Jerusalem. So the Lord’s anger did not fall on them during Hezekiah’s lifetime.

Jerusalem fell because Hezekiah never kept his trust in the LORD GOD because of pride. We ca never boast about our trust in the LORD because it fails us most of the time, what we can rely on is CHRIST's trust to the Father GOD until death on the cross. CHRIST did it and He's in us. CHRIST will never fail us and will never fail in us.

Matthew 27:43 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

He trusted GOD, so let GOD rescue him now if he wants him! For he said, ‘I am the Son of GOD.’”

Joshua 23:14 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your GOD has come true. Not a single one has failed!

1 Kings 8:56 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

“Praise the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel, just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the wonderful promises he gave through his servant Moses.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For all of GOD’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to GOD for his glory.

IX. CONCLUSION:

It's not how much we trust the LORD which amounts to nothing but how CHRIST trust Father GOD in us.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)

For all of GOD’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to GOD for his glory.
