And when your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up after you your offspring who shall be born to you, and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build a house for My ame [and My Presence], and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. David have utterly scorned the LORD

"Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord"

Scorn means despise, blaspheme, provoke, abhor

Romans 12:17 (Amplified Bible)

Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone.

Proverbs 20:22 (Amplified Bible)

Do not say, I will repay evil; wait [expectantly] for the Lord, and He will rescue you.

2 Samuel 16:12 (Amplified Bible)

It may be that the Lord will look on the iniquity done me and will recompense me with good for his cursing this day.

1 Thessalonians 5:15 (Amplified Bible)

See that none of you repays another with evil for evil, but always aim to show kindness and seek to do good to one another and to everybody.

1 Peter 3:9 (Amplified Bible)

Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God—that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection].

We should be a channel of blessing, even if our enemies is cursing us, we should be blessing them in return, easier said than done, but this is our calling.

B. David's son will die

" the child that is born to you shall surely die."

Isaiah 52:5 (Amplified Bible)

But now what have I here, says the Lord, seeing that My people have been taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them howl [with joy], says the Lord, and My name continually is blasphemed all day long.

There are consequences in life, it's not that GOD curses us when we have done Him evil but in the contrary He's always a Blessor giving us His blessings every time there's an opportunity but in our doing, we reap consequences after consequences so the result of what we live today or the kind of life we live today is because of our decisions before.

2 Samuel 12:13 (Amplified Bible)

And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord. And Nathan said to David, The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

But in the midst of consequences running the world, GOD intervenes to rescue us from our misery and from our own doing, that's how He loves us so much even sacrificing persons for us, so that we will not die as a consequence.

Galatians 3:13 (Amplified Bible)

Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);

IX. CONCLUSION:

Doing bad is not our trademark but our mark in this world is blessing if we do the opposite we blaspheme GOD.
