False prophets!
Jeremiah 23:15”…..For from the prophets of Jerusalem Profaneness has gone out into all the land.”
Because the daughter was falling sick often, the parents (who are Christians) changed the name of their daughter from Sindhu to Mary, because the word ‘sin’ was in her name. Is this not ridiculous? They were acting on the advice of a servant of God; who did not dare to point out the sins in the life of the parents nor the child. Ironically they had brought the girl to our meeting for prayers because she fell sick again. God rightly pointed out that profaneness has gone out from the prophets into all the land!
How blindly people believe the lie of satan! This tendency crops up from the wicked heart which wants fast remedy. If a change in name could solve problems, then why would one want to take the trouble of changing their lifestyle, fast and pray? Spiritual laziness is the reason for spiritual decay! Proverbs 15:19 “The way of the lazy man is like a hedge of thorns, But the way of the upright is a highway.” In this modern age of technology and know-how, we have succumbed to the idea and mindset that we’ve got to have things instantaneously, immediately and without delay…! We’ve got instant soup, instant rice and instant cash withdrawal from the ATM, we want everything quick, fast, and in a hurry…! But how many of you know that good things come to those who wait and tarry in prayer…? For Paul tells us in Galatians 6:9 to “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
The churches established by the Apostle Paul were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily because of the teachings of Paul. Acts 16:4 says” And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep, which were determined by the apostles and elders at Jerusalem.” Yes, as Christians there are decrees to keep if we want blessings! Today we need leaders like Paul who would teach the people the ways of God. This is most important! Let words of correction, instruction and direction comes forth from pulpit to bring about perfection in the lives of people rather than cheering and pampering the people with lollypops. Stop turning to fortune tellers, astrologers, numerologists, Star gazing, but turn to His Word.
Satan wants the believers never to grow spiritually but believe in his lie. I was called to a Christian home, to pray for a cancer patient, God pointed out the sins in their life and I revealed every one of them: corruption in business, irregularity to church and hypocrisy. Actually they wanted a prophesy regarding the healing of the woman and were not bothered about my words of correction. The aftermath of their disobedience was disastrous! Shortly the woman died, the children and husband were scattered and one of the children eloped with an unbeliever. The storm left a trail of destruction! Let’s obey and be blessed!
