Summary: My heart was blessed this week when I read about the young man in Pickens S.C who not only stood up for the Lord but, he did it in front of his classmates, teachers, family and his home town that is under attack by some who want to take prayer out

If we are not for God then, we are against Him.

Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

We live in a day when it seems evil and those that are against God seem to be winners. Every time you turn on the news or open the newspaper somebody has won a battle of what they call…”their religious rights have been invaded by Christians”

Just to be quite honest…I’m sick of these people who stand ready 24-7 to take a shot at our Lord like a shooter who shoots for a prize in a shooting gallery. Folks, their day is coming! I’ve said this before, I’m not looking for vengeance against evildoers….I’m looking for justice that only our Lord can bring. Most will look through the stained glassed windows at their church and say..”somebody needs to stand up for God….somebody needs to say something.”

My heart was blessed this week when I read about the young man in Pickens S.C who not only stood up for the Lord but, he did it in front of his classmates, teachers, family and his home town that is under attack by some who want to take prayer out of town meetings and public places.

There was an article entitled: Valedictorian surprises graduation crowd, draws cheers

Valedictorian is the title given to the student who delivers the closing or farewell statement at a graduation ceremony and this happen to be a guy by the name of Roy Costner IV.

Here is part of that article:

Saturday, at Clemson's Littlejohn Coliseum, Liberty High Valedictorian Roy Costner IV took his speech to the podium, and in front of the crowd, tore it up.

John Eby, Pickens County School District spokesman, said, "They write their speeches. They send them to someone on staff to have them approved." But Costner clearly had something else in mind.

After speaking for a few minutes, he thanked his parents for leading him to the Lord at a young age, and then he said, "I think most of you will understand when I say, 'Our Father, who art in heaven…" as he began to recite the Lord's Prayer.

Much of the crowd broke into tentative applause that then grew into cheers that nearly drown out Costner's voice as he continued the prayer. Costner finished, pointing his finger in the air for emphasis, saying, "For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen," followed by more cheers and applause.

What a great way to acknowledge the Lord and give Him honor and praise. Some might say, well that’s just going to make it harder on those in the legal battle in their court fighting against prayer. I say, when is the best time to stand up for God?.....that’s what’s wrong with America today…we let those false gods come into our country and allow those that worship those false gods to take our constitution and stretch it to cover and protect their lies and false doctrine while some Christians organizations set back with billions in the bank and say …well I wish someone would do something.

Folks, religion and organizations are one thing but, a true love for God is totally another. It’s evident that Roy Costner’s love for God is real and he thanked his parents for leading him the Lord at a young age because if we don’t teach our children and grandchildren about the true and living God then, someone will teach them about their false god.

Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? I would hope that it would be all of those who we tell about Jesus. Because, a day will come when your trust in God will be tested. How will you react? Will you stand before the world and confess Him or will you stand alongside of them?
