Summary: Jesus is the Savior of our past , present and future!

Quotes:

“When boiled down to its essence, unforgiveness is hatred.” - John R. Rice

“To err is human, to forgive, divine.” - Alexander Pope, An Essay on Criticism

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act, it is a constant attitude.” - Martin Luther King Jr.

“Forgiveness cannot change the past, but it can change the future.” –Samuel C. Fulkerson

“The voice of sin is loud, but the voice of forgiveness is louder.” - D.L. Moody

“If Jesus Christ was who He claimed to be, and He did die on a cross at a point of time in history, then, for all history past and all history future it is relevant because that is the very focal point for forgiveness and redemption.” - Josh McDowell

Matthew 27:1-2, 22-23, 27-37, 39, 42-43, 45-46, 50-51 “1- When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: 2- And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. 22- Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23- And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 27- Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. 28- And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29- And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! 30- And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. 31- And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. 32- And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. 33- And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34- They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. 35- And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. 36- And sitting down they watched him there; 37- And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 39- And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 42- He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43- He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 45- Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. 46- And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 50- Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51- And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;”

Many have said that BC stands for Before Christ and AD for After Death.

This however is not entirely accurate; As Christ was born in 4BC and died in 29AD.

Many would say that the birth of Christ is the greatest day in history (HisStory).

Neither is this entirely accurate; As Jesus’ death on Calvary forever changed all time for all time!

God is TimeLess.

Therefore, your past is God’s present; your present is God’s present; your future is God’s present.

Isaiah 45:5 “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me…”

Isaiah 43:10 “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.”

Psalm 106:48 “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.”

¡Aleluya!”

In the fabric of time a cross was driven like a “nail in a sure place” that forever changed everything.

From that point, now some 1,984 years later we are still greatly affected by that major event.

Sin required the shedding of blood.

Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and they tried to hid their nakedness with fig leaves; but God required the shedding of blood to cover their sins. He gave them fur coats to cover themselves.

Hebrews 9:22 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Up until the crucifixion, sin was rolled forward toward Calvary.

The Law (Torah) required that the High Priest would go once a year into the “very” presence of God through the veil into the Holy of Holies (the Most Holy Place) and pour the blood of the sacrifice onto the Mercy Seat.

This would push the sins of the people forward for another year.

We know from the Prophet Jeremiah and the writings of the Maccabees that the Ark of the Covenant was not behind the veil in Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem during the time of Christ.

Therefore the High Priest was pouring the blood of the sacrifice for atonement on the floor of the Holiest of all.

Isaiah 66:3 “He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.” –Chapter 66 is prophecy dealing with the coming of Messiah and deliverance of Gentiles.

Hosea 6:6 “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.”

So Jesus the Christ became that perfect fulfilling sacrifice for us all.

Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

So then Jesus’ sin offering of Himself goes Back and Forth.

His precious shed blood covers from Adam to Christ and from Christ to us and on and on and on and on…

His forgiveness covers our past sins, present sins and future sins; for:

I John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”

Let Jesus save you from your past, in your present and for your future!
