Luke 1:26”In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgin's name was Mary.”
Many times, people are curious, anxious and passionate for heavenly visitations! Who would not???? But let me tell you, angel Gabriel would not come and visit you to deliver popcorns but such visits arranged by God would change the course of your life. If Angel Gabriel visits you, you can be sure that God has something significant to say to you! Are you listening? It may upset your routine life, it may upset your dreams and visions, it may call for a sacrifice and surrender, it may disrupt your relationships and plans. Are you ready!
God did not look at her as a young woman in a small city but He knew this woman would obey and surrender to His plans! Glory to Jesus! God is looking for humble and simple people who would listen to His plans and obey Him unconditionally rather than the flamboyant, arrogant ones that would like to choose their own life. Mary was totally confused at the Words of angel Gabriel when he said: ‘you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.’ Anyone would go bonkers hearing such words! But Angel Gabriel went about explaining to Mary and said, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy---the Son of God.” After hearing the angel’s words, she surrendered obediently by saying: “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord!” Now, after this surrender it was Holy Spirit explosion when Mary opened her mouth; she said” "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior..” Mary got ready to fulfill the Word of God despite the pain, agony, isolation, persecution and struggle that she might face! Age has got nothing to do with your determination to stand for God! Mary was young when she determined to carry Jesus in her womb despite the social stigma that she might have to face because of her decision. Fear and angst vanishes when you are filled with the Holy Spirit!
After conducting three days of ‘fire camp’ and filled with the Holy Spirit, we had no time to relax or rest because we had an important appointment with a tax officer regarding our Abide Public School activities. We were strictly advised by the accountant not to mention of our religious activities but only to talk about the school, we listened to the accountant but determined to obey God. The concerned officer was having a grumpy and rude face when we walked into his cabin and was digging us with questions. Finally, he asked us what were our other activities and what we do for our livelihood, I looked at him straight and said, ‘we are Christian ministers, pastors and preachers!’ He did not speak for some time and there was silence! He then told me to go out of the room and asked my husband to wait. Now what? I walked out of the room confused. After some time my husband walked out of the room and said, ‘the officer was happy to know that we are pastors and he wanted us to pray for his son!’ Hallelujah!
Do not listen to the advices of the world, stick to the Word of God and obey Him no matter what the situation may be. Mary obeyed and became the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ; you don’t get such positions and blessings without sweat and pain! I am speaking to someone out there!
