FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS

Psalms 68:1-5 1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

JAH or YAH from YHWH, YAHWEH or JEHOVAH. Is HIS HOLY NAME

HE is a father to the fatherless.

My children here today have their living earthly father. I am numbered with you who are "fatherless". BUT all of us can have a HEAVENLY FATHER. Today, we celebrate HIM.

2 Samuel 7:14

14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do.

1 Chronicles 17:13

13 I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.

In our Bible study, we understood these scriptures to then pertain to David about Solomon, but as we examined these scriptures further, we can understand that GOD says that HE will be the Father to HIS children, those called by HIS name, and treat HIS children as HIS own. Correcting them, but never forsaking them.

John 17:20-26 BBE. Jesus prays for the future believers. That's us!

20 My prayer is not for them only, but for all who will have faith in me through their word; 21 May they all be one! Even as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, so let them be in us, so that all men may come to have faith that you sent me. 22 And the glory which you have given to me I have given to them, so that they may be one even as we are one; 23 I in them, and you in me, so that they may be made completely one, and so that it may become clear to all men that you have sent me and that they are loved by you as I am loved by you. 24 Father, it is my desire that these whom you have given to me may be by my side where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given to me, because you had love for me before the world came into being. 25 Father of righteousness, I have knowledge of you, though the world has not; and to these it is clear that you sent me; 26 And I have given to them knowledge of your name, and will give it, so that the love which you have for me may be in them and I in them.

John 17:24-26 KJV

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me:for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee:but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it:that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Jesus is praying, speaking to GOD THE FATHER before witnesses so that we might believe in The HEAVENLY FATHER and be One - in and with and by - HIM.

Galatians 4:1-7 1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;

2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

5-7 Jesus paid the price in full, redeeming us from the penalty of sin and death, SO THAT we could receive the adoption as children. So we could be claimed as GOD's children. To Prove this, HE put HIS HOLY SLIRIT in our hearts so that we could call our to the eternal GOD as our dear FATHER, Abba, Daddy.

Romans 8:14-17 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

We can know that we are GODs children, because having HIS SPIRIT in us proves that we are HIS child.

As HIS child, we have access to every right, privilege, opportunity, blessing, protection, and provision that HE HAS FOR US.

Therefore, we can GLADLY call HIM, OUR FATHER!

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

We glaze over these words as we celebrate Christmas. Jesus Christ is ALL these..."THE EVERLASTING FATHER".

When asked how to pray, Jesus taught us in this way.

Matthew 6:8-13 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Our Heavenly FATHER, whose very name is holy.

ONLY a true SPIRIT filled believer can pray this prayer.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Having HIS SPIRIT, gives us access to HIM for all these things. Yet, we are instructed to obey HIM. While the gift of GOD is free, It doesn't come without commitment!

HAVING HIS SPIRIT SHOULD SHINE FORTH, WE ARE TO GLORIFY THE FATHER

Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

BE PERFECT. (48)

UNDERSTANDING HIS WAYS, PERFECTS OUR WAYS (44-45)

Matthew 5:43-48

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?

47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

WE ARE COMMANDED TO OBEDIENCE

OBEDIENCE TO HOLINESS

1 Peter 1:13-16 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

SANCTIFY YOURSELF AND BE HOLY

Leviticus 11:44a

For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy…

CONCLUSION.

We all are sinful by nature. Sin keeps us from the Heavenly Father.

JESUS' life, death and resurrection, restores the believer.

Evidence of our restoration is HIS HOLY SPIRIT in us. Having HIS SPIRIT in us, changes us. We are all changed from who we were. Repented.

Having HIS SPIRIT IN us, grants us the right of being GOD's child, as we were designed to be before sin.

BEING GOD's children, grants us the right to call HIM "FATHER". DADDY

KNOWING that we are HIS children, we are to live in the way HE tells us to live. A holy life.

AS HIS CHILD, KNOW THAT YOU HAVE HIS BLESSING.

KNOW THAT HE CARES AND WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU.

KNOW THAT YOU CAN BRING HIM EVERY TROUBLE, WORRY OR CARE.

KNOW THAT HE LOVES YOU AS HIS VERY OWN CHILD.

HE IS NOT ONLY KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS, and HE IS THE "I AM"" BUT ALSO...

HE IS FATHER of fathers.

And I am, and you are, HIS child.
