1 Samuel 1:20-So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”
You need to lean over to your spouse tonight and whisper in their ear, “You’re my Samuel!”
That house you live you might want to name it….Samuel!
That car you drive you might want to name it….Samuel!
That child you have you might want to name it….Samuel!

1 Samuel 1:21-28-Now the man Elkanah and all his house went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice and his vow.
But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, “Not until the child is weaned; then I will take him, that he may appear before the Lord and remain there forever.”
So Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems best to you; wait until you have weaned him. Only let the Lord establish His word.” Then the woman stayed and nursed her son until she had weaned him.
Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. And the child was young.
Then they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli.
And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord.
For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him.
Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they worshiped the Lord there.
Can you imagine what it would be like to leave your child, your young child?
If they are about 13 or 14, no problem, I could drop them off in a heart beat!
But to leave a child that you have been praying for, hoping for, wishing for, longing for, can you imagine how hard that must have been!
But this how serious she was to her vow!
Oh, that we would be that serious to God about our promises, or commitments!
You remember those things in your life that at first, you were committed to, you were dedicated to, then it got to hard, it got to difficult!
Things like reading your bible, going to church, witnessing, praying!!
Just think about how hard it must have been for her, to look in that child’s eyes and know with in a short period of time, that the care of that child, would be somebody else’s responsibility!
1 Samuel 2:18-21-But Samuel ministered before the Lord, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod.
Moreover his mother used to make him a little robe, and bring it to him year by year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, “The Lord give you descendants from this woman for the loan that was given to the Lord.” Then they would go to their own home.
And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the Lord.
Even As A child-There is no age limit on serving the Lord
Samuel is but a child and he is serving the Lord!
Eli eyes were growing dim, and yet he was still serving the Lord!
God can use any person, at anytime, at any stage of life!
Don’t ever say of someone, “Oh, there to young!”
Or don’t ever say of yourself, “Oh, I’m to old to serve God!”
I heard about this woman that didn’t go to the mission field till she was 70, and was still going strong at 90!!!
His Mother Used To Make Him A Little Robe, And Bring It To Him Year By Year-Even though he was in the house of God, doing the work of God, she did not forget him!
A lot of people drop there kids off at church, or at Sunday school and forget about at least spiritually, they may not pray for them, or there Sunday school teacher, or youth worker!
But just because your kid is raised up in church, doesn’t mean that your kid or kids are right with Lord!
Just read about Eli’s boys, they were raised in church, I’ll just put this way, they were taking things that didn’t belong to them!!
That’s why you need to pray for your kids, no matter if they are in church or not!
You need to pray for Sunday school teachers, and youth worker, and the preacher and any one who has a impact on your child or grandchild!
