Summary: Folks, we are living in a fearful time. We have barely gotten the 911 Memorial finished in New York City and terrorist are making serious threats, not only to us but, all over the world.

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.” Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Folks, we are living in a fearful time. We have barely gotten the 911 Memorial finished in New York City and terrorist are making serious threats, not only to us but, all over the world. No matter how powerful a country gets it cannot overlook the smallest threat and it must be dealt with. You can’t underestimate a murderer and I believe that what we have done. Now we have an enemy that we can’t see unless you just happen to be a doctor or scientist. Ebola is a deadly virus that has entered our nation. What will happen next? Lord only knows the answer but, I’m in hopes it’s the Rapture!

Should we be afraid and live in fear daily? Well, I believe if we weren’t very concerned and didn’t have some fear for our own family and their future; wouldn’t we be depending on our Government for protection? After all we do depend on them don’t we?…….mmm.

“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself” It was Franklin D. Roosevelt first inauguration that he said those words in 1933. Well, what does that mean? To me it means when we allow ourselves to be consumed with fear we lose sight of the real meaning of life, God is distorted and our surroundings (as in our government ) become our only hope for survival. That’s the message I’m trying to get across. We can’t depend on our government for protection! We can’t depend on anything or anyone but our God!

David said,in verse 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in Him. And verse 4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. All fears should be placed in God’s hands. Concerns are human nature. God just might challenge our unbelief one day if we don’t trust Him for everything in our life. Verse 21of Psalm 34 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. Desolate means empty or without meaning in their life and without joy.

The only way anyone can have meaning in their life is to have a relationship with Jesus and true joy is only produced by the Holy Spirit. God wants all of you…your fears, your troubles, your heartaches, your life. How about you? Does God have control of your life or your surroundings have control of you?
