Do you have enemies? Don't be frustrated. GOD's WORDS (JESUS) has enemies too.

To expose the enemies of the WORD of GOD, to prevent them, namely: (1) devil, (2) temptation and (3) thorns
IV. TEXT:
Luke 8:11-14 (Amplified Bible)
8:11 Now the meaning of the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.
8:12 Those along the traveled road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and carries away the message out of their hearts, that they may not believe (acknowledge Me as their Savior and devote themselves to Me) and be saved [here and hereafter].
8:13 And those upon the rock [are the people] who, when they hear [the Word], receive and welcome it with joy; but these have no root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation fall away (withdraw and stand aloof).
8:14 And as for what fell among the thorns, these are [the people] who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked and suffocated with the anxieties and cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not ripen (come to maturity and perfection).

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS, I hunger and thirst for You and desires more of You for myself, I earnestly covet You and soak myself in prayer and the WORD many times a day I can.

A. First enemy - the devil
"8:12 Those along the traveled road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and carries away the message out of their hearts, that they may not believe (acknowledge Me as their Savior and devote themselves to Me) and be saved [here and hereafter]."
devil or "diabolos" in Greek meaning:
1. traducer - a slanderer; a calumniator - One who slanders; one who falsely and knowingly accuses another of a crime or offense, or maliciously propagates false accusations or reports
2. specifically satan
3. false accuser, devil, slanderer
Matthew 13:19 (Amplified Bible)
13:19 While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the roadside.
So whenever you are in a worship service, pay attention to what is being preached, don't be physically present and mentally absent, focus your entire being and concentration on the message that is being preached. Make sure to take notes with you, a short pencil is better than a long memory. Understand and jot down passages that you don't understand and ask your leader or someone with good reputation until you fully comprehend the Message that was preached. If you are not serious about the WORD, the devil is serious in snatching or stealing it away from you.
Illustration:
In a public vehicle, if you wear gold necklace but you're not guarding it, the snatcher will snatch it away from you. The WORD of GOD is more than a treasure and much more infinitely valuable than gold.
Proverbs 1:7 (Amplified Bible)
1:7 The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.

This is a good practice. Ask GOD for interpretation, understanding and explanation of His WORDS for you, and whenever GOD gives it, worship GOD. That way the devil is not a problem anymore because you submitted yourself to GOD.
James 4:7 (Amplified Bible)
4:7 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.
B. Second enemy - trial and temptation

Trial and temptation is one word in Greek "peirasmos" meaning, Temptation:
1. a putting to proof (by experiment [of good], experience [of evil]
2. solicitation, discipline or provocation
3. adversity

Do you know that sons of GOD, we can also test people? We can test them in praises, to discover their true nature or character. Try praising someone and see if he will glory in his weakness and uplift GOD just like what John, the Baptist did in the early section of his ministry.

When you don't discover GOD for yourself through His WORDS, then it will be an opening for you to be tempted.

Discover GOD for yourself through His WORDS and prayer, and you will get more godly. Discover money and you will be tempted.
C. Third enemy - thorns
"8:14 And as for what fell among the thorns, these are [the people] who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked and suffocated with the anxieties and cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not ripen (come to maturity and perfection)."
Thorns are:
1. anxieties
2. cares of this life
3. riches of this life
4. pleasures of life
All have common words to them, "in this life", the focus of this person is only "in this life", what about life in Heaven? Desire spiritual things and you will get it, desire physical things and unfortunately, sadly you will get it temptation after temptation, there's no satisfaction to it.

1:2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

IX. CONCLUSION:
Escape the 3 enemies of the WORD by WORD, prayer and ministry involvement.
Ask your leader assigned over you, or your pastor inside the church, what are the available seminars and services that you can attend and attend it with consistency. Pray everyday, with devotions. Get ministry involved. While waiting, attend all the seminars you can.
