12:42 It was a night of watching unto the Lord and to be much observed for bringing them out of Egypt; this same night of watching unto the Lord is to be observed by all the Israelites throughout their generations.

12:43 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the Passover: No foreigner shall eat of it;

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Acknowledge the LORD who does His Greatness for you

"And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord,"

Humility is when you acknowledge the LORD doing His Greatness in and for you and accomplishing things that are impossible.

Our example in humility is Moses, as he was described as very meek.

Numbers 12:3 (Amplified Bible)

12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek (gentle, kind, and humble) or above all the men on the face of the earth.

He learned to acknowledge the LORD whenever there's opportunity for him, he does it by erecting an altar.

Exodus 17:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

17:15 And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my Banner;

17:16 And he said, Because [theirs] is a hand against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Exodus 17:2 (Amplified Bible)

17:2 Therefore, the people contended with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you find fault with me? Why do you tempt the Lord and try His patience?

To the Israelites, it was Moses' hands that made him won the battle against the Amalekites.

Exodus 17:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

17:11 When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.

17:12 But Moses’ hands were heavy and grew weary. So [the other men] took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

But to Moses, he was simply lifting GOD as a Banner.

Exodus 17:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

17:15 And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my Banner;

17:16 And he said, Because [theirs] is a hand against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Illustration:

An unbeliever: When you praise an unbeliever, he will simply say "thank you, it was nothing!"

A believer: When you praise a believer, he will simply say, "I am nothing, it's all about GOD that did it!"

John 15:5 (Amplified Bible)

15:5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.

B. Glory in your weaknesses

"For what are we, that you murmur against us?"

If you want to know if a person is humble, praise him and see if he will acknowledge the LORD.

Proverbs 27:21 (Amplified Bible)

27:21 As the refining pot for silver and the furnace for gold [bring forth all the impurities of the metal], so let a man be in his trial of praise [ridding himself of all that is base or insincere; for a man is judged by what he praises and of what he boasts].

It's ok to test people to know them because as kings of the earth that's our obligation here on earth:

Proverbs 25:2 (Amplified Bible)

25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a thing.

1 Peter 2:9 (Amplified Bible)

2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Beware of false humility, it also acts religious and worships angels, and other things but not GOD:

Colossians 2:18 (Amplified Bible)

2:18 Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen, vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his unspiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit,

Colossians 2:23 (Amplified Bible)

2:23 Such [practices] have indeed the outward appearance [that popularly passes] for wisdom, in promoting self-imposed rigor of devotion and delight in self-humiliation and severity of discipline of the body, but they are of no value in checking the indulgence of the flesh (the lower nature). [Instead, they do not honor God but serve only to indulge the flesh.]

IX. CONCLUSION:

Humility is our covering and our protection from destruction, even the most powerful angel can fall down and be destroyed by his pride.

Proverbs 18:12 (Amplified Bible)

18:12 Haughtiness comes before disaster, but humility before honor.

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are hiding us under the shadow of Your wings, we're protected and they don't see us but only You in our lives.
