I. INTRODUCTION: CAN WE DISCERN THE TIMES?
WHAT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING IN LIFE?

Perceive clearly with the mind and senses, recognize...

III. IN GREEK THERE ARE TWO WORDS FOR TIME:
A. CHRONOS
STOP WATCH: Minutes, hours, days, months, years, schedules,
B. KAIROS
Events, memories, LIFE EXPERIENCES, meaningful, issues
C. ARE WE LIVING IN CHRONOS OR KAIROS?
D. Which type of time does Jesus desire?
IV. WHAT DO YOU SEE?
Jeremiah 1:11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah,
what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
[12] Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to
perform it.
[13] And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest
thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.

V. TIME IS EFFECTED BY HAVING NO ROOTS...
GOOD GROWTH IS MORE THAN JUST UPWARD,
GOOD GROWTH IS DOWNWARD...
A. SOME SEEM TO RECEIVE GOD WITH THEIR EARS ---
OTHERS WITH THE BRAIN...
But the greatest distance in the world is the 18 inches between the brain and
the heart.
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the
word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in
time of temptation fall away.
B. Seems there was a surface layer of soil, with a deep hard rock layer beneath...

VI. HAVE WE LEARNED HOW TO TELL TIME? WHAT DOES HIGH TIME MEAN?

VII. WE SEARCH FOR A MORE CONVENIENT TIME?
Convenient: Serving one's comfort or interest, handy
Acts 24:25 And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to
come Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a
convenient season, I will call for thee.
VIII. LIFE IS BRIEF
Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Psalm 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
IX. REDEEM THE TIME... REMEMBER S&H GREEN STAMPS? YELLOW TOPS STAMPS?
Ephes. 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Col. 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
CONCLUSION:
ARE WE SPENDING ARE TIME, TALENT, AND ENERGY ON THINGS THAT REALLY
MATTER?
WASTED YEARS, WASTED YEARS O, HOW FOOLISH...
