23:5 Will you set your eyes upon wealth, when [suddenly] it is gone? For riches certainly make themselves wings, like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.

VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Work is weariness. Weary not to be rich.
"Weary not yourself to be rich; cease from your own [human] wisdom."

6:27 Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using], but strive and work and produce rather for the [lasting] food which endures [continually] unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give (furnish) you that, for God the Father has authorized and certified Him and put His seal of endorsement upon Him.

6:8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content (satisfied).

Work is part of the curse in which GOD cursed Adam because of the fall of man so if you continue to work to be rich, then curse is upon you. But on the other hand if you recognize work/job as something to give glory, honor, thanksgiving and worship to GOD then you're free.

3:17 And to Adam He said, Because you have listened and given heed to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, saying, You shall not eat of it, the ground is under a curse because of you; in sorrow and toil shall you eat [of the fruits] of it all the days of your life.

3. Kept by their owner to their hurt and lost in a bad venture
A testimony by King Solomon, the richest king in the world.

5:13 There is a serious and severe evil which I have seen under the sun: riches were kept by their owner to his hurt.
5:14 But those riches are lost in a bad venture; and he becomes the father of a son, and there is nothing in his hand [with which to support the child].

5:1 COME NOW, you rich [people], weep aloud and lament over the miseries (the woes) that are surely coming upon you.

That's why JESUS wants to eliminate riches and wealth from the rich young ruler so that there will be no hindrance for that young man to follow and serve JESUS.

19:21 Jesus answered him, If you would be perfect [that is, have that spiritual maturity which accompanies self-sacrificing character], go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; and come, be My disciple [side with My party and follow Me].

IX. CONCLUSION:
Don't work hard to be rich, but work hard to glorify GOD. Riches or wealth gained from hard work will fly to the heavens and the LORD will get it and give it to the righteous.
Ecclesiastes 2:26 (Amplified Bible)
2:26 For to the person who pleases Him God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and heaping up, that he may give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after the wind and a feeding on it.
