III. OBJECTIVES:
To show that JESUS fulfilled all being a Servant to us and He shares to us what a servant looks like, a Servant looks like the LORD JESUS.
IV. TEXT:
Luke 17:8 (Amplified Bible)
17:8 Will he not instead tell him, Get my supper ready and gird yourself and serve me while I eat and drink; then afterward you yourself shall eat and drink?
V. THESIS:
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You girded Yourself, prepared the table in the presence of my enemies, have me reclined at a table, came and served me instead.
Psalms 23:5 (Amplified Bible)
23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
Luke 12:37 (Amplified Bible)
12:37 Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are those servants whom the master finds awake and alert and watching when he comes. Truly I say to you, he will gird himself and have them recline at table and will come and serve them!

VII. EXPLICATION:
A. Author: Dr. Luke, The Beloved Physician (close friend and traveling companion of Paul)
B. Audience: Theophilus (Greek means friend of GOD, a Christian)
C. Purpose: To give a connected and orderly narrative of the life of CHRIST as seen by eyewitnesses
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Serve the LORD while eating and drinking
"Will he not instead tell him, Get my supper ready and gird yourself and serve me while I eat and drink;"
The exact opposite has happened. The LORD who is the LORD of lords serves us.

Philippians 2:7-8 (Amplified Bible)
2:7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
2:8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!
CHRIST waited on us and until now, He is serving us, for continously giving His life to us, He is always in our midst serving our needs.
Matthew 18:20 (Amplified Bible)
18:20 For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.
We serve the LORD by giving glory to Him before, while and after eating.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (Amplified Bible)
10:31 So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.
Deuteronomy 8:10 (Amplified Bible)
8:10 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for all the good land which He has given you.
Illustration:
During the LORD's Supper, we must be the one serving the LORD but instead the LORD serves us with His blood and body.
1 Corinthians 11:24-27 (Amplified Bible)
11:24 And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
11:25 Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
11:26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and signifying and proclaiming the fact of the Lord’s death until He comes [again].
11:27 So then whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in a way that is unworthy [of Him] will be guilty of [profaning and sinning against] the body and blood of the Lord.
B. After the LORD has eaten he shall eat and drink
"then afterward you yourself shall eat and drink?"
Look at the LORD JESUS continously serving us our needs.
Luke 12:37 (Amplified Bible)

The LORD Himself will gird Himself, have us recline at the table, will come and serve us. We cannot over serve the LORD, He is already there serving us.
1 Peter 2:9 (Amplified Bible)
2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
IX. CONCLUSION:
Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You girded Yourself, prepared the table in the presence of my enemies, have me reclined at a table, came and served me instead.
