H. Key verses:

Deuteronomy 6:1-4 (Amplified Bible)

6:1 NOW THIS is the instruction, the laws, and the precepts which the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you might do them in the land to which you go to possess it,

6:2 That you may [reverently] fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, and keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be watchful to do them, that it may be well with you and that you may increase exceedingly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

6:4 Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord].

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Our peace offering is the LORD JESUS

"And you shall offer peace offerings,"

Hebrews 13:20-21

Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),

Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it).

Colossians 1:20

And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross.

Ephesians 2:16-17

And [He designed] to reconcile to God both [Jew and Gentile, united] in a single body by means of His cross, thereby killing the mutual enmity and bringing the feud to an end.

And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near.

Song to sing:

My life is in You LORD

The LORD JESUS is the Prince of Peace who constantly brought us constant perfect peace and He's also the peace offering.

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 26:3

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

B. Our eating and rejoicing is before the LORD

"and eat there and rejoice before the Lord your God"

Eat or "akal" in Hebrew meaning:

1. to consume, to devour

2. to feed, food, meat

3. to dine and eat

Rejoice or "samach" in Hebrew meaning:

1. to brighten up

2. blithe or gleesome

3. cheer up, be (make) glad, (have make) joy (-ful), be (make) merry

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!

Psalms 37:4

Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls,

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

Romans 8:36-37

Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

Our eating and rejoicing is not based on the food being plenty or we eat luxury food, but our eating and rejoicing is based on the LORD, always in the LORD not in our circumstances.

Illustration:

The type of food you eat shows how rich you are, but remember even rich people don't have peace.

Proverbs 23:3

Be not desirous of his dainties, for it is deceitful food [offered with questionable motives].

Proverbs 23:20

Do not associate with winebibbers; be not among them nor among gluttonous eaters of meat,

Proverbs 15:16

Better is little with the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord than great and rich treasure and trouble with it.

Proverbs 15:16-17

Better is little with the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord than great and rich treasure and trouble with it.

Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.

Proverbs 17:1

BETTER IS a dry morsel with quietness than a house full of feasting [on offered sacrifices] with strife.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for we acknowledge You as the Prince of Peace who constantly brought us constant perfect peace.
