6:2 That you may [reverently] fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, and keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

6:3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be watchful to do them, that it may be well with you and that you may increase exceedingly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

6:4 Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord].

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. How do we conduct our walk before GOD?

1. Fear Him

2. Keep His commmandments

3. Obey His voice

4. Serve Him

5. Cling to Him

"You shall walk after the Lord your God and [reverently] fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and cling to Him."

Colossians 1:10

That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition].

1. Fear Him

When you fear something or someone, you revere it. It's not proper for believers to fear his enemies or ghosts, because the reverential fear all belongs to GOD.

Psalms 119:120

My flesh trembles and shudders for fear and reverential, worshipful awe of You, and I am afraid and in dread of Your judgments.

Psalms 130:4

But there is forgiveness with You [just what man needs], that You may be reverently feared and worshiped.

Psalms 64:9

And all men shall [reverently] fear and be in awe; and they will declare the work of God, for they will wisely consider and acknowledge that it is His doing.

This is a healthy fear because you will declare GOD's work in your life, you will wisely consider and acknowledge that it is His doing for your life that made you unique and different.

Illustration: I know of a ministry head woman who is afraid of the pulpit and she always acknowledges it in her preachings. It's not a proper way to say in front of the people but instead declare you have the fear of the LORD in your hearts.

2. Keep His commmandments

Psalms 78:7

That they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but might keep His commandments

Psalms 89:31

If they break or profane My statutes and keep not My commandments,

Proverbs 19:16

He who keeps the commandment [of the Lord] keeps his own life, but he who despises His ways shall die.

3. Obey His voice

In the Hebrew, it's more about Hearing His voice because when you can hear something you can obey it. You need to hear from GOD everyday through His WORDS.

Psalms 18:44

As soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me; foreigners submitted themselves cringingly and yielded feigned obedience to me.

Psalms 34:2

My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

4. Serve Him

Psalms 2:11

Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him].

Psalms 100:2

Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing!

5. Cleave or cling to Him

Psalms 63:8

My whole being follows hard after You and clings closely to You; Your right hand upholds me.

Hezekiah's example of cleaving/clinging:

2 Kings 18:6

For he clung and held fast to the Lord and ceased not to follow Him, but kept His commandments, as the Lord commanded Moses.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for we walk by faith not by sight or appearance.
