Summary: The mere practicality of the use of scripture in our daily life helps us to apply the Words of God in defense---when under enemy attack.

MY DEFENSE IS OF GOD

by

Dr. Gale A. Ragan-Reid (June 6, 2015)

“My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.” (Psalms 7:10, King James Version [God's glory is magnified]).

Greetings In The Holy Name Of Jesus,

My sisters and brothers, last night I found myself in deep reflection in my sleep thinking of my friends throughout the years---those who I failed to keep in contact with and possibly the reason why our friendship failed to survive the long years, apart. I pondered the good times and those times called in question of sincerity and true love---mostly, those moments of unbelief. It struck me odd that the pain of a lost friendship meant we gave up on keeping up with one another---loving one another, no matter what happened and how big the gulf/distance between us. I've never thought of myself before right now this moment as I reflect on my past as a quitter---one who throws a good friendship out the window, like throwing the baby out with the bath water. I've always thought I valued each and every friendship God blessed me with yet as I reflected and looked in my past at many good friendships squandered---that sounds harsh but the friendships were left behind, I feel I lost some treasures. Life is not easy.

My thoughts took me back to one night 15 years ago, when I traveled from work in Miami, FL: to home in Jupiter, FL at a local gas station off Interstate (I)-95. I walked inside the gas station store to pay for my gas and I noticed a woman intently watching me but I pretended not to notice. She said, “I'm from Jerusalem and I see there is an older woman who is trying to destroy you---she wants everything that you have I can pray for you for ... money.” I replied, “I have only a little money---just pray for me.” I gave her a few dollars. I did not know her husband was already inside the store paying for their gas. He spoke to me, “My wife saw something. We're from Jerusalem. She is good, believe what she says.” I left the gas station without saying anything else, however, through the years I searched my relationships to figure out what woman hated me that much to want to destroy me and take everything that I had.

“My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.” (Psalms 7:10, KJV [To God be the glory]). Many people who believe in God run to the Psalms (“The Book of Praise”) in times of need to study David, Solomon, Moses, Asaph and other prayers for protection, usually Psalms 91 is a great defense. I prayed for myself and many prophets/apostles/seers wrote me from the world---those who see---did see I was under attack and reached out to me to help, folks I never met but who could see. More importantly, there are false prophets out there who are just in business to make money who use mailing lists to send out to the world to get clients. For some reason, let us just resolve to say my name was on their mailing lists but I also like to think there are some true believers out there who do see and who did reach out to me as a member of the one body of Christ Jesus.

I tell you, at the time I met the woman at the gas station life for me was just great---Just a year or more before I met the woman I purchased a brand new BMW. In the last year I purchased a ranch home in Jupiter, FL all on my own. Now in the last month or so, I already met with the financial institution to get a brand new PT-Cruiser for my sons. It was not long after I began drawing up the contract to get the PT-Cruiser that I became ill---severe muscular aches and pains, feet burning, with severe back pain that made me ask for a dire emergency leave from my job. Still, my faith was strong that God would see me through this illness.

I retired from work---firstly, my doctor put me on narcotics for the severe pain, then chiropractic care with everything they had, massage therapy with ice and heat, electric shocks, cracking my back, to finally go on an exercise routine---four hours each day I walked from the ranch to the market---two

2

hours to the market and two hours back home. I sold my home---moved to Atlanta, GA and continued

to walk from mid-town to up-town to the library each day up the steep hills/mountains. “Because of his

strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.” (Psalms 59:9, KJV [He voweth perpetual service]). “Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.” (59:17, KJV [He voweth perpetual service] ). “He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.”(62:2, KJV [He voweth perpetual service]).

Folks, I guess I was not the only one going through something---under attack, mailers came---I read through many and I sorted through some, too. I am not saying I received a truck load full but enough to keep me well-informed especially since I studied for my doctorate degree. I made it through my doctorate program to receive my degree now seven years ago but just today since I received a mailer [backlogged] with a DVD, did I watch it. It was from a Frenchman from France who spoke French on the DVD with a French client (Thank God for subtitles in English). This Frenchman was a part of, if not owner of a research center that dealt with destiny---the letter was separated from the DVD so I just watched the DVD.

The destiny research center's client said he was referred to him because the magnetizer he sought said his problems were too great for him. He continued to say, he had a nasty divorce, problems with his house---a home he could not live in but still required to pay for the home and maintenance, lost custody of his daughter but required to pay for his daughter's schooling, one car accident after the other. He also said an occultist made his home leak---water seeping through the floors, on the chairs, the radiator--- from the water source below. He slept in his car a few nights and finally moved in with his mother. He had back problems. He was a broken man with a huge weight on his shoulders---no hope.

The magnetizer at the destiny research center made him a pentacle and rituals for freedom, protection, and self-worth, which changed his life---he won a small lottery, then a bigger lottery for $1.2 million [with the winnings he bought two apartment buildings, another home, he won custody of his daughter...], his life changed---no more problems and he thanks the magnetizer of the destiny research center for eliminating the negativity and increasing his successful potential, which changed his life. “For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.” (89:18, KJV [God's great mercies]). I do not know whether the magnetizer was an occultist man or a man of witchcraft, a root man with spells and potions but I do know that my delivery came through God---I did not trust any other. “But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.” (94:22, KJV [A prayer for justice]).

Most importantly, if you do not know the Word of God, then you must trust others to do rituals for you and to pray for you but had the man who needed help known to pray Psalm 5:11 (KJV) [for protection from enemies]), “But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.” However, those who do depend on their pastors, teachers, prophets, apostles, and members of the one body to pray---know the battle really is the LORD's. Many times, the battle makes you lose faith and you look to the east, to the west, to the north and to the south for help from anyone who will help you and no one helps. I do not mean to sound like a pragmatist when I say it is times like those that you must feel the fire of your own convictions, run your course with devotional praise from Psalms and pray for your own healing. In summary, Psalms, the Book of Praise is there for us all as we search for help in times of need when we need to defend ourselves---pray for appeal to a higher power in troubling times, sin, and trust---believing the world is truly in the hands of God---in man's relation to God.(Holy bible, n.d.).

Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. God bless you. In The Name Of Jesus. Amen.
