Psalm 29 1. Our Duty

1 A Psalm of David. Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength. 2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

(a) Our Existence The difference is this; men and women have a soul.

(b) Our Example the great thing about Jesus Christ is that His whole life is one of worship. (Not Carpentry)

(c) Exhortation 2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name;

"Seek ye first the kingdom of God... and all these (other) things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6, 33). Belshazzar at his feast in Daniel, chapter 5 The fingers of a mans hand, 'MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN'. 22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;

23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:the angel said? "The God in whose hand thy very breath is, and whose are all thy ways: hast thou not glorified."

2. Our Deity

The Voice Of The LORD is heard - vs. 3-9

A. In Creation- v.3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

B. In Power- v.4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; C. In Kings- v.4 the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

D. In Nature- vs.5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

E. In Judgment- v.7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.

F. In Destruction- v.8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh. G. In Worship- v.9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

The Jehovah of the Bible is the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - three Persons in one ever blessed and eternal Godhead. usually, in Scripture, the order of worship is - we give worship to the Father, through the Son (as Mediator), and in the Spirit

4. Our Defence 11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

(a) The Protection of The Lord - :11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; (b) The Promise of The Lord - :11 the LORD will bless his people (c) The Peace of The Lord - v.11 the LORD will bless his people with peace.
