Psalm 30 PRAISE FOR DELIVERANCE

I. Extol The LORD For His Resurrection- vs. 1-4

A. He Helped David - v. 1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. His Deliverance was :- (a) Divine "for thou hast lifted me up" (b) Direct "I will extol thee, O LORD" (c) & Decisive hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

B. He Healed David - v. 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. His Development was :- (a) Divine "thou hast healed me" (b) Direct "O LORD my God, I cried unto thee," (c) & Decisive Healed :- 1. Physically 2. Mentally 3. Spiritually "He Brought me up"- v. 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. C. He Heard David v. 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. His Direction was :- (a) Divine "O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave:" (b) Direct "thou hast kept me alive," (c) & Decisive "that I should not go down to the pit." Ps. 16:9-11 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

II. Extol The LORD For His Restoration- V. 5-9 Restoration : - A. Of Praise - v. 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Praise The Lord For His Patience "For his anger endureth but a moment" For His Purpose "in his favour is life:" For His Providence "weeping may endure for a night" For His Pre-eminence "but joy cometh in the morning." Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. B. Of Power - v. 7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: Neh. 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. C. Of Prayer - vs. 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. Eccl. 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

1. With Thanks- v. 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?

2. With Testimony- v. 9 Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? III. Extol the LORD with Rejoicing- v.11-12;

A. David Was Dancing- v. 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: II Sam. 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

B. David Was Shouting- v. 11 thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; Isa. 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

C. David Was Singing- v. 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent.
