There’s Still Power in the Blood

Would you be free from the burden of sin?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Would you o’er evil a victory win?

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r

In the blood of the Lamb;

There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r

In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

Would you do service for Jesus your King?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Would you live daily His praises to sing?

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

The Precious Blood of Jesus --Matthew 26:27-28

Jesus has gathered his disciples together for the Last Supper. As these men gather around him, he holds up the cup and begins to explain that his blood is the New Covenant and that His blood is sufficient. Whereas the blood of goats and bulls, for 4000 years had not met the requirements for the fulfilling of the law,

HIS BLOOD IS SUFFICIENT, because of a perfect, sinless life. This is what He was talking about when he said that He had come to fulfill the law. Matt. 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

That He, in one loving act, would do what no other sacrifice had been able to do and would begin a new covenant, with the God of Creation. A blood covenant, that if anyone would trust in the power of this blood, they would receive…

There is wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb, power to take away the sins of the world.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

I. His Blood Has the power to Redeem

“Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the lamb. Redeemed, redeemed, His child forever I am.”

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

The law was hard; No one could be pure enough,

good enough, holy enough, to obey the entire law.

The law held men in bondage, and showed every imperfection in humanity, but the blood of Jesus

freed us from the curse of sin and death.

Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The law had no completion, today a lamb, tomorrow

a dove, next week a goat, the next a bull. It never stopped, constantly trying to cover the sins of a nation.

The priest had to enter the Holy of Holies once a year to sprinkle blood upon the Mercy Seat of the Ark

of the Covenant to atone for the sins of Israel.

One Cry from Jesus and God was no longer separated from man by a veil but as he cried out “It is finished” the veil was torn from top to bottom and now, man could be redeemed by the New Covenant of The Blood of Jesus, and now man is no longer separated from the presence of God. The Precious Blood of Jesus

Hebrews 10 This is the covenant that I will make

with them, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into

their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

enter into the holiest, by the blood of Jesus,

The Precious Blood of Jesus

II. His Blood has the Power to Transform

A. It’s the blood of Jesus, when applied to our lives, that makes the vilest of sinners, to be transformed

into new creatures, into the image of God’s Holiness.

Heb. 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, purge your conscience to serve the living God?

Saul, a murderer, that tried to destroy the church,

had an encounter with the blood and was forever transformed into “Paul, an apostle of Christ”

The thief on the cross had an encounter with the blood of Jesus, and was transformed from a condemned man into a saint dwelling in Paradise.

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,

he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet,

they shall be as white as snow; though they be red

like crimson, they shall be as wool.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

III. His Blood has The Power To Give Life

Blood is our source of life; without it flowing through our veins, life will cease, will end, in this physical body.

You cannot survive, you can’t live without blood.

Without the blood of Christ applied to our spirit and soul we are bound for the certainty of the second death

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Life can only be found in the power of Jesus blood.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

IV. His Blood Has The Power To Heal and Protect

Whenever a virus attacks our physical body and begins to make us sick, our blood begins to fight

with all that it has, attacking the virus. When the enemy of your soul rises up against you,,,,

The blood of our Savior covers us like a shield and that enemy that would destroy our soul is defeated.

Why? Because there is wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb. When your body suffers an injury such as a cut, your blood rushes to protect you.

Many times in this life we live we suffer from different kinds of attacks on our spirit……

- A word spoken that cut like a knife into the heart

- A selfish act that almost destroys you emotionally

- An attack on your thought life, of condemnation

This is when the blood of Jesus wraps around our Spirit and Soul to protect and bring healing to the hurts of our lives. The wound may be tinder for a while and may leave a scar but the blood of Jesus is always at work, right in the middle of the hurts

of our life, bring protection and healing.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

V. His Blood has the Power To Deliver

It is the power of the blood of Jesus that breaks the yoke of bondage of sin from our lives. He doesn’t just forgive us and leave us in the grips of Satan, but by the power of the blood of Jesus, we experience freedom from sin, freedom from bondage and iniquity.

The Blood of Christ can break the yoke and set you free from whatever Satan had wrapped around you.

Gal. 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

But not just to deliver but to OVERCOME.

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The Precious Blood of Jesus

His Blood is Still Powerful Today, still saving sinners, setting captive free. His Blood is still sufficient

What love, what sacrifice, what a gift of life.

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,

In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?

Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior’s side?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

When the Bridegroom cometh

will your robes be white?

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,

And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,

And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;

There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,

O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

The Precious Blood of Jesus

What is in the blood ?

Red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen to the body and brain, and collecting carbon dioxide and taking it back to the lungs where it can be breathed out.

White blood cells act as the defenders of the body against germs or foreign bodies (such as splinters). The white blood cells work with special proteins called antibodies, which also travel in the blood, to protect against diseases.

The platelets are sticky little cells that move around in the blood until a blood vessel is injured in some way (when bleeding starts). The platelets join together with a protein called fibrinogen to make a sort of net to form a clot, which stops the flow of blood out of a blood vessel.

Hormones such as insulin (from the pancreas) and growth hormone (from the brain) are carried by the blood.

Waste products are carried to where they can be sent out of the body (for example to the kidneys, lungs and liver).

Heat! The outer parts of our body (such as our fingers and toes) stay warm because heat which is made in the center of the body (in the liver and in muscles for example) is carried to them by our blood.

Our liver, heart, muscles and brain don’t overheat, because heat is carried away from them by our blood!
