Message Point: Nothing and No Thing can separate us from the Love of Christ.

Focus Passage: Romans 8:33-39

Introduction: Jesus taught with parables; this morning, I’m going to preach with analogies.

I. The Analogy of Birth

a. Jesus said “you must be born again” (John 3:3-7)

b. Nicodemus asked how an old man could return to his mother’s womb

c. Jesus explained that you get one physical birth and one spiritual birth

d. Your kids simply don’t stop being your kids because they misbehave or disrespect you. You desire for them to act right and have a restored relationship with you.

II. The Analogy of Adoption

a. He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, (Ephesians 1:5)

b. See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. (1 John 3:1)

c. In man’s law, the adopted person takes the name of the father and submits to their authority. The adopting father assumes responsibility for the child and can never dis-inherit them.

d. If man’s law is so magnanimous, how much greater is the Grace of God?

III. The Analogy of Marriage

a. There is symbolism throughout the Bible that the Church is the Bride of Christ.

b. You need not get married again just because you hurt your husband’s or wife’s feelings.

c. You need not get married again because you have broken your vows; you forgive and go on.

Invitation: Have you been adopted into God’s Family? Have you been born again? Are you a part of the Bride of Christ? If not, today is the day of salvation! There is no reason to leave this building today if you do not know if you are saved. Come now and be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ!
