BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF
(John 6:5-6) "HE COULD there DO NO MIGHTY WORK, save that He laid His hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them. And He marveled BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF."
Jesus went to His home town. He could there do NO MIGHTY WORK BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF.
The religious system would have us to believe that the reason Jesus was able to do mighty works was because He was Jesus. In His home town, He was Jesus! HE COULD THERE DO NO MIGHTY WORK!
Why couldn't He do mighty works in His home town? BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF!
How did Jesus do mighty works in other places?
(Matthew 8:13) "as you have believed so be it unto you."
(Mark 5:34) "your faith has made you whole."
(Matthew 9:29) "according to your faith be it unto you."
Jesus can not do anything for you apart from your faith!
Jesus said in ( John 5:19) "The Son can do nothing of Himself." (John 5:30) "I can of mine own self do nothing." (John 8:28) "I do nothing of myself." (John 14:10) "The Words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He does the work."
In these scriptures, Jesus reveals how He did mighty works. He spoke the Father's Word and the Father did the work. (In order for the Father to do His work with His Word, people have to believe to receive.). THAT IS THE WAY YOU RECEIVED SALVATION AND EVERYTHING YOU RECEIVE FROM GOD!!!
