2 Peter 1:21 (New King James Version)

for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

A. No prophecy came by man's will but holy men of GOD spoke

"For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so—it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God"

2 Timothy 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),

1 Peter 1:11 (Amplified Bible)

They sought [to find out] to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow [them].

Luke 1:70 (Amplified Bible)

This is as He promised by the mouth of His holy prophets from the most ancient times [in the memory of man]—

B. Holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the HOLY SPIRIT

"who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit"

Holy men of GOD are moved along by the HOLY SPIRIT to speak what GOD wanted to say, verbatim (word for word). It is possible that's why there are four gospels to the LORD JESUS' account: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In the bible, two or three witnesses are already enough to testify to the truth.

Deuteronomy 17:6 (Amplified Bible)

On the evidence of two or three witnesses he who is worthy of death shall be put to death; he shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness.

Deuteronomy 19:15 (Amplified Bible)

One witness shall not prevail against a man for any crime or any wrong in connection with any sin he commits; only on the testimony of two or three witnesses shall a charge be established.

Matthew 18:16 (Amplified Bible)

But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed and upheld by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

but why four (4) gospels? because GOD wanted to add one more, He always goes above and beyond human standards, and we see all testimonies of the four (4) gospels never contradicted each other, because they are four (4) views or standpoints of four (4) holy men of GOD as they testified to the truth of the LORD JESUS CHRIST's life.

Examples of men who spoke by the HOLY SPIRIT in the bible:

1. King David - both a king, priest and prophet

Mark 12:36 (Amplified Bible)

David himself, [inspired] in the Holy Spirit, declared, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies [a footstool] under Your feet.

Hebrews 10:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

And also the Holy Spirit adds His testimony to us [in confirmation of this]. For having said,

This is the agreement (testament, covenant) that I will set up and conclude with them after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds (on their inmost thoughts and understanding),

2 Samuel 23:1-3 (Amplified Bible)

NOW THESE are the last words of David: David son of Jesse says, and the man who was raised on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, says,

The Spirit of the Lord spoke in and by me, and His word was upon my tongue.

The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me, When one rules over men righteously, ruling in the fear of God,

2. Moses

Numbers 16:28-29 (Amplified Bible)

And Moses said, By this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I do not act of my own accord:

If these men die the common death of all men or if [only] what happens to everyone happens to them, then the Lord has not sent me.

3. angel who spoke with Apostle John, the beloved

Revelation 19:10 (Amplified Bible)

Then I fell prostrate at his feet to worship (to pay divine honors) to him, but he [restrained me] and said, Refrain! [You must not do that!] I am [only] another servant with you and your brethren who have [accepted and hold] the testimony borne by Jesus. Worship God! For the substance (essence) of the truth revealed by Jesus is the spirit of all prophecy [the vital breath, the inspiration of all inspired preaching and interpretation of the divine will and purpose, including both mine and yours].

4. Abraham

Luke 1:70-73 (Amplified Bible)

This is as He promised by the mouth of His holy prophets from the most ancient times [in the memory of man]—

That we should have deliverance and be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who detest and pursue us with hatred;

To make true and show the mercy and compassion and kindness [promised] to our forefathers and to remember and carry out His holy covenant [to bless, which is all the more sacred because it is made by God Himself],

That covenant He sealed by oath to our forefather Abraham:

5. Paul to Timothy

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

And how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus [through the leaning of the entire human personality on God in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].

Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),

So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You have given us Your HOLY SPIRIT to move us along so we can speak GOD'S WORDS to the people.
