I WILL GLORY IN THE CROSS
GALATIANS 6:14
1. THE CROSS REPRESENTS CONDEMNATION:
Romans 5:17-21 (NKJV)
17 For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.
20 Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more,
21 so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 3:23 (NKJV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. THE CROSS BRINGS CLEANSING:
John 19:33-37 (NKJV)
33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe.
36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken."
37 And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."
Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)
18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
Ephesians 5:25-27 (NKJV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
3. THE CROSS GIVES REASON FOR CELEBRATION
**THE CROSS PROVES YOUR WORTH TO GOD!!
**HOW DO WE KNOW THAT WE ARE “RIGHT?” IN OUR FAITH?? ITS BECAUSE THAT JESUS FULFILLED ALL THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF GOD TO SET US FREE, AND BECAUSE OF THE CROSS- GOD PROVING THIS TO ALL, RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, AND NOW HE IS SITTING AT GOD’S RIGHT HAND MAKING INTERCESSION FOR US!!
Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV)
3 The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
Isaiah 43:1 (NKJV)
1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.
Isaiah 43:4 (NKJV)
4 Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life.
**ANOTHER REASON, ITS BECAUSE OF THE CROSS THAT:
a. THE PERSON OF SIN WAS DEFEATED
b. THE POWER OF SIN HAS BEEN BROKEN
c. WE ARE GOING TO A PLACE IN WHICH EVEN THE PRESENCE OF SIN WILL NO LONGER BE!!
** ONE OF THESE DAYS, THE SAINTS ARE GOING TO GO MARCHING INTO HEAVEN BECAUSE OF THE LOVE THAT GOD HAS FOR US!!
