IN SEVENTY WEEKS-III—Daniel 9:24(1-3, 13-27)

The Pivotal Messiah OR Messiah’s Niche

Attention:

Progressive television?:

Sadly, the following is a disclaimer which previewed today’s airing(Dec. 17, 2017) of Dr. Charles Stanley’s ‘In Touch’ TV show:

“The opinions and views expressed do not reflect those Of NBCUniversal or any of its employees.”

Notice that the disclaimer specifically states that ‘In Touch’ with Dr. Charles Stanley absolutely does not reflect the views of NBCUniversal! No ‘may not’ but ‘do not’!

Also notice that the spiritual opinions & views of NBCUniversal were extended to “any of its employees” as well.

‘In Touch’ obviously brings income to NBCUniversal, so they readily take the money from them & air Stanley’s preaching.

Need:

Our world needs to recognize that the celebration of Christmas is about celebrating the arrival/advent of God’s salvation.

Daniel was granted knowledge of the fulfillment of God’s plan for the ages.

Daniel was granted pivotal knowledge of God’s anointed timeline for the ages.

Our RIGHTEOUSNESS(:24f)

Explanation:(:24f)

:24f—“Seventy weeks are determined For your people & for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision & prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

In Christ Jesus “everlasting righteousness” will be “brought in” or ushered in. Basically, righteousness is our doing that or those things which God has determined is/are ‘right.’

His is a “righteousness” that is not earned, but is a result of our new nature.

In our doing God’s will from the heart, we please Him in all that we are, & thereby in what we do.

Currently, your ability to live out God’s righteousness is locked in a battle with the flesh(Eph. 6:10-13). But one day even that will be won totally, when we experience the completion of our walk on this earth.

Eph. 6:10-13—“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord & in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh & blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, & having done all, to stand.”

?How can this be?...By Messiah only!

“Bring in”(See :14—“Brought...Upon”)—awb bow’—Hiphil(causative) Infinitive—1) To go in, enter, come, go, come in; 1a) (Qal)--1a1) To enter, come in, 1a2) To come—1a2a) To come with, 1a2b) To come upon, fall or light upon, attack(enemy), 1a2c) To come to pass, 1a3) To attain to, 1a4) To be enumerated, 1a5) To go; 1b) (Hiphil)--1b1) To lead in, 1b2) To carry in, 1b3) To bring in, cause to come in, gather, cause to come, bring near, bring against, bring upon, 1b4) To bring to pass. Strong—a primitive root; To go or come(in a wide variety of applications).

“Everlasting”—Mlwe o-lawm’—Noun Masc.—1) Long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world. Strong—properly--Concealed, i.e. The vanishing point; generally--Time out of mind(past or future), i.e. practically--Eternity; frequentatively, adverbial(especially with prepositional prefix)--Always. Used 439X.

“Righteousness”—qdu tseh’-dek—Noun Masc.—1) Justice, rightness, righteousness—1a) What is right or just or normal, rightness, justness(of weights & measures), 1b) Righteousness(in government)—1b1) Of judges, rulers, kings, 1b2) Of law, 1b3) Of Davidic king, Messiah, 1b4) Of Jerusalem as seat of just government, 1b5) Of God's attribute, 1c) Righteousness, justice(in case or cause), 1d) Rightness(in speech), 1e) Righteousness(as ethically right), 1f) Righteousness(as vindicated), justification(in controversy), deliverance, victory, prosperity—1f1) Of God as covenant-keeping in redemption, 1f2) In name of Messianic king, 1f3) Of people enjoying salvation, 1f4) Of Cyrus. Strong—The right(natural, moral or legal); also abstractly--Equity or figuratively--Prosperity.

Argumentation/Illustration:

1Cor. 13:8-13—“Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part & we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

Rom. 10:1-4—“Brethren, my heart’s desire & prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, & seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

Gal. 2:11-21—“Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew & separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles & not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews? “We who are Jews by nature, & not sinners of the Gentiles, “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ & not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; & the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me & gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

2Cor. 5:21—“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Our KNOWLEDGE(:24g)

Explanation:(:24g)

:24g—“Seventy weeks are determined For your people & for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision & prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

“Seal up” means:

a. To close up.

&/or

b. To authorize.

One day, in Christ, God will vindicate every truly God-ordained revelation & action by bringing about it’s complete fulfillment.—NAC

There will come a time when Christ will be present with His people so that there will be no need for either “vision” or “prophecy.”

In the future, Knowledge of God will be entirely personal, being individually fulfilled in God’s presence, with whom we will dwell.

Rev. 21:22-23—“But I saw no temple in it[the new Jerusalem], for the Lord God Almighty & the Lamb are its temple. The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.”

?How can this be?...By Messiah only!

“Seal up”(See “Make an End” above)—Mtx khaw-tham’—Qal Infinitive—1) To seal, seal up, affix a seal—1a) (Qal)--1a1) To seal, affix one's seal, 1a2) To seal up, fasten up by sealing. Strong—a primitive root; To close up; especially--To seal. Used 27X.

*Also used in the original kethiv describing “making an end of sins”(:24d).

“Vision”—Nwzx khaw-zon’—Noun Masc.—1) Vision—1a) Vision(in ecstatic state), 1b) Vision(in night), 1c) Vision, oracle, prophecy(divine communication), 1d) Vision(as title of book of prophecy). Strong—A sight(mentally), i.e. A dream, revelation, or oracle. Used 35X.?From—hzx—a primitive root; To gaze at; mentally--To perceive, contemplate(with pleasure); specifically--To have a vision of.

“Prophecy”—aybn naw-beey’—Noun Masc.—1) Spokesman, speaker, prophet—1a) Prophet, 1b) False prophet, 1c) Heathen prophet. Strong—a prophet or (generally)inspired man.?From—abn—a primitive root; To prophesy, i.e. Speak(or sing) by inspiration(in prediction or simple discourse).

Argumentation:

2Tim. 3:16-17—“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God[God-breathed], & is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

1Cor. 2:1-16—“And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ & Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, & in much trembling. And my speech & my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit & of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”

Gal. 3:21-29—“Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, & heirs according to the promise.

Jer. 31:31-34—“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel & with the house of Judah--not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, & write it on their hearts; & I will be their God, & they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, & every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, & their sin I will remember no more.”

Col. 2:1-3—“For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you & those in Laodicea, & for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh, that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, & attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father & of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom & knowledge.

Our ENDORSEMENT(:24h)

Explanation:(:24h)Anointing/God’s Stamp of Approval

:24h—“Seventy weeks are determined For your people & for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision & prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.

“to anoint the Most Holy”—Denotes the anointing of either a holy person or place.

This phrase is actually a doubling of vdq usually rendered ‘most holy’ or ‘holy of holies’, an apparent reference to the holy of holies in the Tabernacle &/or Temple, which at the time of Daniel’s writing, was desolate. It may also refer to the future Church. It may also refer to Ezekiel’s future Temple(Ezek. 40-48).—NAC It also very probably refers to the extension of Jesus’ holiness to His people—the saints!

This ‘anointing’ is a declaration which will occur of that which is the holiest of holiness...Messiah Himself...Jesus! He is our ‘Holy of Holies.’...Our Holy Place!

In God’s Anointed Messiah Jesus, we discover God’s intention with which mankind is to approach God...In holiness!

1Cor. 6:15-20—“Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ & make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, & you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body & in your spirit, which are God’s.”

1Cor. 3:9-17—“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, & another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; & the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Do you not know that you are the temple of God & that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”

2Cor. 6:16—“And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.””

?How can this be?...By Messiah only!

“Anoint”—xvm maw-shakh’—Qal Infinitive—1) To smear, anoint, spread a liquid—1a) (Qal)—1a1) To smear, 1a2) To anoint(as consecration), 1a3) To anoint, consecrate. Strong—a primitive root; To rub with oil, i.e. To anoint; by implication--To consecrate; also--To paint.

“Most Holy”Duplicated(See above singular)—Myvdq vdq—vdq ko’-desh—Noun Masc.—1) Apartness, holiness, sacredness, separateness—1a) Apartness, sacredness, holiness—1a1) Of God, 1a2) Of places, 1a3) Of things, 1b) Set-apartness, separateness. Strong—A sacred place or thing; rarely abstract--Sanctity.

Argumentation:

Rom. 10:8-10—“But what does it[the Scripture] say? “The word is near you, in your mouth & in your heart”(that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord[Master] Jesus[Savior] & believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, & with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Rom. 3:1-4—“What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision? Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God. For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.”

1Pet. 1:3—“Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

Rom. 4:23-25—“Now it was not written for his sake alone that it[righteousness] was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, & was raised because of our justification.”

Jn. 2:18-22—“So the Jews answered & said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?” Jesus answered & said to them, “Destroy this temple, & in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, & will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body. Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; & they believed the Scripture & the word which Jesus had said.”

Mat. 12:38, 39—“Then some of the scribes & Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.” But He answered & said to them, “An evil & adulterous generation seeks after a sign, & no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.”

Mat. 16:1-4—“Then the Pharisees & Sadducees came, & testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered & said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; “& in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red & threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. A wicked & adulterous generation seeks after a sign, & no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them & departed.”

Acts 26:9-11—“Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. This I also did in Jerusalem, & many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; & when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them. And I punished them often in every synagogue & compelled them to blaspheme; & being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.”

Rom. 1:7—“To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you & peace from God our Father & the Lord Jesus Christ.”

“Called”—klhtov—Adj.—Called, Invited, i.e. Appointed, or specifically--A saint.

“Saint”—agiov—1) Most holy thing, a saint. Agiov is a separation from evil & defilement. The moral signification of the word is therefore the prominent one. This word expresses the full N.T. conception of holiness as no other does. Sacred(physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated).

Rom. 8:27—“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

1Cor. 1:1-3—“Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, & Sosthenes our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs & ours: Grace to you & peace from God our Father & the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Rev. 13:1-10—“Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads & ten horns, & on his horns ten crowns, & on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, & his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, & great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, & his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled & followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; & they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things & blasphemies, & he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, & those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints & to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, & nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience & the faith of the saints.”

Rev. 14:9-12—“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast & his image, & receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, “he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire & brimstone in the presence of the holy angels & in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever & ever; & they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast & his image, & whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God & the faith of Jesus.”
