Summary: We must consider the role of BEING OFFENDED? Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 of second coming agendas... one of those is being offended and hurting each other. How you handle being offended is your choice.

DRAMA QUEEN? HORNET’S NEST?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

***OFFEND: to be difficult, to cause people to feel hurt, angry, upset at something said or done, to be unpleasant, to do wrong, to hurt or cause pain,

***DRAMA QUEEN: a person who acts as though things are much worse than they really are. A person given to often excessively emotional performances or reactions.

***AGITATOR: A person that stirs up problems, a person that tries to make people angry or upset to gain personal support, to stir up or shake, ONE THAT STIRS UP AND IGNITES TROUBLE…

Kindle: flair up, to start…

1 Peter 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

DRAMA QUEENS WILL TELL… JUST STAND BACK AND WATCH…

QUITING IS A SIGN? Few want to read the warning sign of quiting.

QUITTING WILL REVEAL DRAMA QUEENS (KINGS) WERE NEVER WITH YOU.

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

JESUS WEPT…

John 11:35 Jesus wept.

Why did Jesus cry? MARTHA WAS A BIT OF A DRAMA QUEEN. She got mad when her sister Mary was not helping cleaning the house and making the meal? WE CALL MARTHA THE WORRIED HOUSEKEEPER?

Luke 10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

MARTHA WAS A BIT OF A DRAMA QUEEN, SO SHE RAN AND WAS A TATTLE TAIL … ???

Did Jesus cry of Martha’s attitudes?

Did he cry because Lazarus was dead?

Did Jesus cry because of Martha’s sorrow?

Mary was found at Jesus’ feet, she was crying, is that why Jesus cried?

Maybe Jesus was crying because NO ONE SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND THE SPIRITUAL REALM?

Maybe Jesus cried because he saw the SPIRITUAL POSSIBLITIES and the eternal lessons and seems everyone was allowing their emotions to dictate…

MAYBE JESUS CRIED BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS REACTING TO THE PROBLEM AND NO ONE WAS ACTING IN FAITH?

It is easy to permit our attitudes and emotions to drive us into a frenzy.

I THINK THERE WAS ANOTHER DAY WHEN JESUS HAD TEARS RUNNING DOWN HIS FACE… Why?

There was a PARADIGM SHIFT, the teaching went deeper. Unless you eat my body? Drink my blood?

The drama queens never desired to learn and understand, IT IS EASY TO QUIT AND MAKE A BIG BUZZ THEN TO TRY TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND…

John 6:61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

The crowds grew and grew… there were thousands of people.

It was almost a CIRCUS atmosphere.

Let us see some more miracles.

The people were demanding signs! One sign is never enough? They demanded more and more signs.

Many today say if there were more and more signs and wonders the churches would grow? NOT SO!

JESUS STARTED TEACHING SOME DEEP LESSONS.

THE QUITING SPIRIT CAN FROM BEING OFFENDED…

John 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

THERE ARE SOME AUTOMATIC CONSEQUENCES TO BEING OFFENDED? ONE CONSEQUENCES IS QUITTING AND GOING AWAY?

John 6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

JESUS HAS TAKEN A FEW OF THE CHOSEN ACROSS THE HILL FROM THE TEMPLE. THEY WALKED UP THE HILLSIDE AND SAT DOWN. YOU COULD SEE THE EASTERN GATE OF THE TEMPLE MOUND AND JESUS TAUGHT A LESSON FROM THE MOUNT OF OLIVES. WHEN? WHEN, THE QUESTION WAS: WHEN WILL YOU RETURN?

Jesus begins his discourse about when? There are many external signs.

There will be false teachers. Nation rise against nation. False prophets. Powers will be shaken. Signs in the skies. Earthquakes. Famines. BUT JESUS HAD A CLEAR WARNIN ABOUT BEING OFFENDED HURT AND DYING

Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

THE HINGES OF THE GATES OF HEAVEN SWING ON FORGIVENESS. OUR ENEMY WANTS US BITTER, ANGRY AND UNFORGIVING…

Matthew 24:10, there is a spirit of offense thriving in the church in the last days... offended can lead in the path of unforgiveness, for 7 x 70 a day?

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

LOOK, CHECK BITTERNESS OUT… BITTERNESS IS A TERRIBLE CURSE AND OFTEN GROWS UNSEEN, BENEATH THE SURFACE.

Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be 14. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

There is a root of bitterness that grows under the surface. It defiles many...

JOHN THE BAPTIST IS IN PRISON. HIS MESSAGE HAS ANGERED AND HURT SOME VIP’s. REVENGE SEEMS SO SWEET? HERODIAS HAS JOHN IN PRISON…

John’s emotions and hurt and being offended causes him self-doubt. Some visitors come to visit John and he sends them to Jesus. Seems the crowds that followed JOHN are slowly moving again from JOHN and moving over to JESUS. This will hurt your ego and bring offense?

JOHN’S DELEGATION SEES JESUS DOING MIRACLES, AND THEY ASK JESUS, ARE YOU?

JESUS SENDS A MESSAGE TO JOHN AND SAYS: OH, YES…

Matthew 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Jesus gave John the Baptist good words: BLESSED IS HE WHO IS NOT OFFENDED.

OFFENSE, HURT AND QUITTING IS A CHOICE? YOU DECIDE WHERE TO DWELL?

Offense is a choice?

Will we act by faith or react by emotions? Strong words?

BUDDY’S CHOICE?

I am sorry! Refuse to be offended.

A friend of mine was really mistreated badly. The words were mean and terrible. ...

The next week the man was back at his post of duty, I said, I never looked for you to return again?

He said why? I said that man was mean to you last week.

The offended man said: I made a choice years ago I would never accept offense, I refuse to be offended.

Wow, why can't we do that. Jesus said, vengeance is mine I will repay. Do we steal what belongs to God?

Sometimes the worse thing that happens to you is the best thing? How did Jesus feeling?

HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE…

I have a lesson I would like to teach. It's a very simple lesson. People don't hurt you because of who you are.

They hurt you because of who they are. Will we learn this lesson?

LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME, SOMETIME THE WORSE THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO ME,CAN BE THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO ME… ASK LITTLE BROTHER JOSEPH… GOD HAS A PLAN…

Trapped?

The ruts have become so deep that the ruts control where we are going.

Offended? Bad attitudes? Negative words seal our doom?

A habit can become addictive behavior that drives us.

We need to accept that we can realize what the lure that keeps drawing into the trap.

Most good traps are hidden from view... Falling into traps become a slow, gradual process...

Today we need accept the point that I can change.

Even "good people" need to adapt and change to be better.

Target one area in your life and develop a strategy to improve.

Take baby steps and build momentum to improve yourself.

Be better today than yesterday.

Develop the mind of Christ. FORGIVE.

You will not accidently change.

You will change when you identify bad attitudes and INTENTIONALLY PLAN TO DO BETTER.

Will you FORGIVE? Will you allow OFFENSE TO SEPARATE YOU? Improve or stay the same?

DO I TRUST GOD? DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THIS BETTER THAN GOD… YOU SLAP GOD IN THE FACE BY PLAYING THE GAME OF REVENGE… DON’T STEAL FROM GOD!

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

CONCLUSION: IT TAKES 3 PEOPLE TO HURT AND OFFEND YOU. 1. The person that hurts and offends. 2. The person that runs and tells you what the mean person said. 3. YOU, YOU MAKE THE CHOICE TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE HURT. YOU make the choice to get mad and get even, or turn the problem and hurt over to God and TRUST GOD TO HANDLE THIS PAIN AND HURT. Don’t get mad? Get even is a poor motto. TRUST GOD’S PLAN. ASK JOSEPH…

Genesis 45:8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
