THE INWARD PART

Spirituality
To stress the importance of the spiritual part of man
1. When God made man, He made man in his own image (Gen.1:26-27)
2. There is much confusion concerning exactly what this means
3. Some suggest that the meaning has to do with our physical appearance
4. Some believe it has to do with certain attributes
5. The best meaning is in regard to God existing as a triune being
6. When God made man, He made man a Triune being like Himself (I Thes.5:23)
7. God is a spirit (Jn.4:24) and man is made in his image
8. God desires to establish a relationship with us upon this basis (Ps.51:6)(Jn.4:23)
9. Our relationship with God can only be established spiritually and based upon truth (Jn.3:5-8)
10. The Bible lays great stress upon THE INWARD (Spiritual) PART of man
I THE INWARD PART IS THE PART THAT GOD LOOKS ON

II THE INWARD PART IS THE PART THAT GOD LIVES IN
A. By The Son
1. Because He wants to Fellowship with us (Jn.14:20-23)
2. Because He wants to bear Fruit through us (Jn.15:4-5)
3. Because He wants to Fortify us (Lk.17:21)(Col.1:27)
B. By The Spirit
1. As Proof (Rm.8:16)(Rm.8:9)(II Cor.13:5)
2. As Promised (Ezk.36:26-27)
3. Personally (I Cor.3:16)(I Cor.6:19)
