Is That Your Final Answer
Matthew 7:21-23
Now some of you may be laughing at the title of today’s sermon. But let me caution you this isn’t "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." This is something more substantial, your eternal future. Jesus talked about this for us in Matthew chapter 7.
Today many people claim to be “Christians.” There are 2 groups that are discussed in Matthew chapter 7. There are those with the right answer and those with the wrong answer. Many people foolishly believe they are Christians. This belief is based on non-scriptural views about salvation. The common belief is that deeds are what matters, but the Bible clearly shows us that this is erred thinking. "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith...not of works" (Ephesians 2:8).
The true believer is set apart by obedience. Obedience to the calling of the Holy Spirit. This calling that we have been obedient to is salvation through Jesus Christ. To experience this salvation we must repent of our sins, confess to God that we are a sinner and that we need Jesus in our lives. We must surrender our self...will, pride, and agendas to Jesus. Our salvation brings us into an eternal commitment to Him, where He leads we must go. The fruit of the believer will be obedience to God’s commands. Our lives will evidence a transformation through Jesus. And our lives will be directed by the
guidance of the Holy Spirit.
There will be a judgement day. God’s word speaks of His judgement many times over. Matthew 7 tells us that many will call Him Lord, but the final answer will not be the right answer. God is not concerned with what you have done for Him. He is concerned that you know Him through Jesus His son and that you have
allowed Him to work through you. Works are meaningless without a personal relationship with Jesus
Unlike the game shows there is no consolation prize for those who are not found in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Those who do not know Jesus will be cast out. Seperated from the love of God for all eternity. Here is your lifeline...Jesus is the only way. Ask Him into your heart today and become rich in eternal blessing in Jesus Christ.
