10 STUPID THINGS PREACHERS DO TO MESS UP THEIR CHURCH
2 Timothy 4:10
1. They spent too little time in prayer, and pray with too little fervency.
(1 Thess 5:17; James 5:16)
2. They spend too little time preparing their sermons, thereby offering their congregation malnurishing spiritual meals. (2 Timothy 2:15; Acts 17:11; John 5:39)
3. They fail to teach their members the value of spiritual gifts. (1 Cor 12; Romans 12)
Ø Your job is to help them discover how God has uniquely equipped each one for service in the Church.
Ø Your job is to help them develop the gifts God has given each one of them for service in the Church.
Ø Your job is to help them deploy the gifts God has given them for service in the Church.
4. They fail to exercise shepherd leadership for the Church. (1 Peter 5:2-3)
5. They fail to make the gospel message culturally relevant, seldom touching the heart or meeting the felt needs of the people. (1 Cor 9:19-23)
6. They attempt to develop spiritually mature believers through legalism instead of setting their people free to serve God with joy. (Col 2:16-23; Gal 3:2; 5:1, 13)
7. They allow a root of bitterness to grow within them. (Heb 12:15)
8. They dabble with sin. (Num 32:23; James 1:13-16)
9. They neglect their families. (Ehp. 5:25; 6:4)
10. They allow the message of the CROSS & the RESURRECTION to become commonplace. (1 Cor 1:18; 2:2)

11. They major on minors and minor on the majors. (Matt 6:33; 22;37-38)
12. They become keepers of the aquarium instead of fishers of men. (Mat 4:19)
