Summary: Last night (Friday) of revival series focused on 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Are You Ready For Your Healing?

On this last watch night, tent tearing down night, we invite your attention to our theme verse for this week coming from 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Text: 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We count it all joy that the Lord has allowed for us to labor from this one verse all week long. And on tonight, we would like to complete our series of sermons and examination of this powerful passage of scripture. On Monday night we asked the question: “What Does It Mean To Be Called By God’s Name”. Once we found out the answer to this question, we learned on Tuesday night that we needed to “Get Right for Prayer.” On Wednesday night we explored the necessity and the urgency of “Turning Your Life Around,” and completed the portion of our text that gives us directions on what we must do in order for God to move. On last night we heard from heaven as we walked with the Lord and discovered what happens “When God Hears Our Cry.”

So on tonight I would like for you to turn to your neighbor, and say “Neighbor, Are You Ready For Your Healing.”

Subject: ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR HEALING

The first nine chapters of this book of 2 Chronicles cover the reign of Solomon as king of a united Israel. But in order for us to understand the magnificence of Solomon’s kingdom, we must first know and understand that it was Solomon’s father David who built Israel into a mighty kingdom with a large and powerful army. It was David who and had been able to accomplish uniting the northern and southern kingdoms of Israel and Judah. It was David who had successfully led this nation in and out of battle and had built them up from nothing, to a world superpower of their day. Can I get a witness?

Yes, David arose from being a poor little shepherd boy to lead one of the mightiest nations in the world. But be there no mistake. David was able to accomplish this task because He walked with the Lord. He talked with the Lord. He new the Lord was his shepherd and he had no need to want for any thing. Can I get a witness?

The Bible goes on to record, in both the new and the old testaments, that David was a man after God’s own heart. David loved the Lord God Almighty. He loved the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And just like a chip off the old block, the Bible tells me over in 1 Kings Chapter 3, that Solomon too loved the Lord. But what I like most about this love thing, is that it was not a one way street.

You see a lot of times in our lives, we find ourselves in relationship where our love is not being returned the way we think that it should be returned. We feel that we are giving all the love we have, but we not getting anything in return for our love.

And even in the church, where Jesus Christ told us to “Love ye one another,” you can find yourself loving a brother or sister in Christ unconditionally. But they will not, nor do they desire to return your love in any way, shape, form or fashion. They just won’t love you back. And yet they claim that they are trying to be like Jesus Christ, the son of the true and the living God. Well I’ve got news for them, if you are not loving like God says for you to love, you don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of making it into the kingdom of heaven.

For my Bible tells me that not only did Solomon love the Lord, but God loved him back. And my brothers and sisters, I want you to know tonight that when God loves you back, a whole lot of good will come your way.

Solomon received an infinite amount of wisdom from the Lord. He received riches beyond measure from the Lord. He had an army and people following him that could not be compared anywhere in the world. All because God love him back. God loved Solomon so that He allowed him to build a temple for the Lord. But let me let you in on something special about this man called Solomon. He never got to big headed because of his blessings.

You see a whole lot of us get a little something something and we have to go and brag to the whole wide world about what we have. We have to invite them over to our house so they can see just how big it is. But we never invited them to that apartment we used to live in. We have to ride down their block in our car so they can see how new it is. Yet we don’t live anywhere near them. And we even have to reach in our pockets, pull out and play with our money clip every chance we get, all because we want someone else to see what we have. It’s gotten to the point where a whole lot of men don’t even keep their money in their wallets anymore, because when it’s in their wallet, they can’t get to it fast enough to show it off. But haven’t you read your Bible where it says, the Lord gives and the Lord taketh away. Just like he gave it to you he can strip you back down to nothing.

Solomon knew this. Despite his many blessings, he kept on praising the Lord. Despite knowing that he was loved by God, He kept on worshipping the Lord. Despite being allowed to build God a house to call His own, Solomon kept on praying to the Lord. For the Bible tells me that after the building of the temple; after the glory of the Lord have filled the temple; Solomon preached to the people. Then when he finished preaching to the children of God, he went down on his knees in prayer. It was this moving and sentimental prayer that led to God’s response in 2 Chronicles, Chapter 7.

God begins by letting us know that sometimes, there may be a need for chastisement. Sometimes we may get too high that He will need to bring us back down. But he also wanted us to know that if that were to happen. If he were to shut up heaven that the blessings stopped raining down upon us. If he had to command the locusts to devour all that he took the time to bless us with. If he was provoked to send pestilence or sickness in such a way that we knew without a doubt that we are out of the grace and mercy of God, there is still a way for us to turn this thing around. There is a way for us to get out of our sickness and get our healing.

First, we’d have to humble ourselves and pray. We’d have to stick our chest back in and submit ourselves to the will of God. We’d have to come down out of the clouds and let our feet walk the earth again. And once we find ourselves to be humble, that’s when we can bow down before the Lord and pray. Every now and then even when nothing is going wrong. We ought to pray. When our telephone bill has already been paid we ought to pray. When our house note and our car note are not in a delinquent status, we should still pray. When we are still in good health and we can use both our arms and legs, and wiggle all ten fingers and ten toes. We ought to keep on praying. For I heard somebody say that prayer is always in order. Ain’t that right Deacon Cooper? But I like what the Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. He tells us to pray without ceasing. That means never ever stop praying. Can I get a witness?

The next thing that we must do is seek the face of God and turn from our wicked ways. In other words, we must stop doing all of those things that are of the world and start trying to be more like Jesus. For Jesus tells that although we are in this world we are not of this world. And you need to know tonight that if you’re still living in the ways of this world, you may not be able to get onboard that morning train to glory to get to a better world. Am I right about it?

And once we’ve lived up to our responsibility and we’ve done what God wants us to do, 2 Chronicles 7:14 says then God will hear from heaven. How many of you know tonight that if God hears our cry everything will be alright. I don’t care what you’ve been through. I don’t care what you’re going through. I don’t even care about what you may face in the future. Because if God hears from heaven, he’ll move and send a healing your way.

Because the last. Part of this text tells me, that he’ll forgive all of our sins, and he’ll heal the land. Ain’t the Lord alright?

And what I like children is that my Bible tells me that if God forgives us of our sins, He blots them out. And when He blots them out. He no longer has any recollection of them. Ain’t God alright?

It doesn’t matter if you used to be one of the best alcoholics. It doesn’t matter if you were a drug pusher or a drug user. It doesn’t matter if you slept with somebody else’s husband or somebody else’s wife. It doesn’t matter if you had somebody’s child out of wedlock. It doesn’t matter if you’ve lied, cheated, or stole. It doesn’t matter if you’ve turned your back on your mother or your father. What matters most tonight is that the Lord can and the Lord will forgive you of all of your sins. Yes he will.

That’s why Jesus, died on that old rugged cross. Yes He did.

He took the weight of this Old World upon his shoulders. He took the stain of sin off of our backs. Yes, he did.

He went through all of the suffering down here on earth so we would not have to go through it come judgement day. The Bible tells me that when he finished all of His work down here. He climbed up on the cross. And hung down his head and died. But there was something special aobut this man named Jesus, because early one Sunday morning he got back up with all power, healing power, in his hands. Oh Lord.

He’s got the power to heal your arthritis or your rheumatism. He’s got the power to heal your chronic high blood pressure. He ‘s got the power to heal those headaches you call migraines. He’s got the power to heal cancer and aids. He’s got the power, holy ghost power, to heal diabetes and blood disorders. He’s got the power to heal up all of your broken bones.

Whatever your sickness may be. Whatever disease ails you. I’m here to tell you tonight that God can and God will heal up your body. And make you brand new again. Yes He can. Yes he will. I’ve tried him and I’ve found him to be a doctor all by myself.

But what I like most about this man name Jesus. Is that not only can he heal you of your physical conditions. Not only can he heal you of your mental anguish. Not only can he remove aches and body pains, but whatever it is that has you weighed down. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus can heal the land. Are you ready for you healing?

For I know, He can heal your financial situation. And put money in your pocket. He can heal your broken down marriage. And put love back in your heart. He can heal your drug ridden children and make them whole again. He can heal that broke down car, and make it drive just like new. He can heal that dysfunctional relationship between you and your family. He can heal that memory of being raped or abused.

Do you know him? Have you tried Him.……
