On this annual men’s day it is not be accident or chance that the Lord would the ministry to preach the word of God to the men who are sitting here to day…
It is not by accident that you are present in the house of God…
It is not by chance that the pushing and pulling that your spirit has felt in the last t few days has brought you to this point…
And it is not by chance that the Lord would direct to the book of Proverbs for a hearty serving of wisdom and knowledge…
IN this book of proverbs, The great Solomon, guided by the holy sprit of God wrote these passages for the church…
The commentary says that in times of peace…
In those quiet times…
In those lonely times…
In those times when you are all by yourself…
Those times when only you and God know what your life is really like…
It is at those times, the commentary says that God will allow us to LEARN OURSELVES and TEACH OTHERS through the reading and studying of the Proverbs.
In fact the word itself (Proverb) means, "to be like"…
So when we read a proverb, we should know that God is truly trying to speak to you…
God is trying to impart wisdom upon you…
God is trying to reach and direct you…
God is trying to communicate and help you in one of his most direct and uncomplicated ways…
When you read these books…
You will learn something about yourself and those around you…
GOD is telling you that there IS a timeless truth that HE MUST impart upon you today…
HE must share it with you because you life hasn’t been what you want it to be…
He must share it because you want to be a better father…
You want to be a better mother…
You want to mend that relationship…
You want to be loved by somebody…
You want to someone to understand what you’re going through…
You want somebody to listen…
You want somebody to help…
You want somebody to hold you when things are going so well…
And GOD says…
Come to me…
Come to me… and I will reveal myself to you in a powerful way…
Come to me… and let the finger of God touch your heart…
Come to me…and I will show you what I envision for your life…
And when you come to me…
I will bring to you a light of understanding…
I will bring to you a new learning…
A new knowledge…
A new wisdom…
God says I’ll be your teacher…
I’ll be your instructor…
I’ll be your mentor…
I’ll be your coach…
I’ll be your strength…
I’ll be your power…
I’ll be your protector…
I’ll be your provider…
I’ll be your leader…
I’ll be your guide…
I’ll be your counsel…
And each one shall teach one…
Proverbs (1:5)
The Bible says that a wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding will attain unto the wise counsels.
What that means is that when God has justified you…
When God has sanctified you…
When he has set you aside…
When he has touched the wise believer…
When he has rebuked the deceiver…
When he has exalted you…
When he has given you counsel…
When he has given you that new wisdom…
You will not only have the knowledge that edifies oneself…
You will not only see yourself removed from a world of blindness…
You will not only see the road to an abundant life…
BUT YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE ABILITY TO GUIDE OTHERS TO THE TRUTH…
You will be able to reach others with your insight…
You will lead others to a better life…
You will teach others the word…
You will govern situations
You will overcome circumstances…
You will remove burdens…
You will be touched with an anointing of God…
And Just like Moses,
And that anointing of God, will set the captives free…
Just like Jeremiah…
That anointing will deliver you…
And that anointing of God…
Will destroy every yoke upon you…
That anointing of God…
Will bring strength to your home…
That anointing of God…
Will loose you from every stronghold…
That anointing of God…
Will destroy spirits of lack…
And confusion…
And unworthiness…
Because you are more than a conqueror…
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you…
And all things work together for the Good of those who love the Lord
If you need the counsel of God in your life…
If you need direction in your life…
If you need a counselor that always has time for you?
A counselor that will always give you good advice
One that will always direct to the right decision…
Someone who will step in for you when no one else cares…
You need God
And God didn’t bring you this far…
God didn’t take you through all of these storms…
God didn’t give you the endurance to run the race of life
By accident…
There is no accident that you are here
No, God has a greater purpose for you…
God wants you fulfilled…
He wants you accomplished…
He wants you to glorify Him with your presence…
And he wants to deliver you from what you are going through…
You now, the bible says that (Proverbs 19:20) we should "Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou may be wise in the latter end"…
And that there are many devices in a mans heart… But that the counsel of the Lord will stand…
God wants you not only to hear him… But also to listen for him…
There IS a difference…
There is a difference between hearing something…
And listening for something….
I can hear something without paying attention to it. The sound of it is within my prescience…
I hear it…
But my level of attention…
My focus…
My concentration on toward that thing may not be there…
But when I am listening for something…
When I am listening for something…
I am seeking it out…
I am attentive to every sound that I am pursuing
I am making a point to embrace the information or object I am looking for…
Such is the Kingdom of heaven…
When you listen for God…
God will open the doors of wisdom for you…
He will release the gates of enlightenment for you…
He will emancipate the portal of prosperity for you…
He will ease the entry of edification for you…
But when God says that there are many devices in a man’s heart; but the counsel of the Lord will stand…
He’s telling you that I know about the problems you are going through…
I know about the financial difficulties…
I know about the pressures…
I know about the insecurities…
I know about the girl down the block…
I know about the alcohol…
I know about the drugs…
I know about your temper…
I know about your anger…
I know… I know…I know… I know
But in the end son…
My Counsel…
My Purpose…
My Guidance…
My Word…
Will stand…
He wants us to know that He is in control of everything…
And this is how God works…
We can fight him…
We can avoid HIM
We can remove ourselves from his temple…
We can procrastinate…
We can even reject him…
But none of that changes the fact that he exists and is real in our lives…
And that the only way to win the abundant life that millions know…
Is to surrender to him
To surrender…
And when you surrender, then the Lord says, "Follow me"
A great writer once said:
" He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool. Shun him…
" He who knows, and knows not that he knows not, is a child, teach him"
"He who knows, and know that he knows is wise, Follow him…
Wisdom is the practical application of knowledge…
Let God hive you the knowledge and wisdom you want to achieve true greatness in your family…
In your future…
And in your life. Now and eternally…
