Summary: We must know that we know we can prossess what God has promised and we must prepare ourselves to receive what we are believing for.

Breakthrough 2: Believing I Can Receive!

>Start with a confession of faith

>Purpose is to possess what we continually claim that we have legal right to.

>Two focal points of this breakthrough

1. We must know that we know we can possess

2. We must prepare ourselves

>Today is a very simple message, but it is critical to our faith that we know it is the will of God for us to possess.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

“For God so loved the world”

- refer to creation - is it the rocks and water and trees He loved?

- Stress that He loved us

“that he gave his only begotten Son”

- Who did He give?

- We pray in His Name, Baptized in His Name,

claim His Name, but why was He given?

“that ‘whosoever’ believeth in him”

- Who does that exclude?

- If it includes everyone then who was it that

God “so loved?”

Who was it that He gave His Son for?

“should not perish”

- Not just talking about Hell (targeting your life)

- “Persish” 622 apollumi (ap-ol’-loo-mee);

- to destroy fully (reflexively, to perish, or lose):

John 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: .... (KJV)

- We are always pointing to eternity when God established us a place on earth to dwell.

(we are not to perish - on earth nor in eternity)

“have everlasting life”

- Not just heaven

Rom 10:10

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (KJV)

- Salvation is not exclusively talking about eternity

4991 soteria (so-tay-ree’-ah);

derivative of (soter - 4990) rescue or safety (physically or morally):

KJV-- deliver, health, salvation, save, saving.

(If you are saved from drowning in a pool of sharks by default you were also saved from the sharks)

4990 soter (so-tare’);

from (sozo - 4982); a deliverer, i.e. God or Christ:

4982 sozo (sode’-zo);

"safe" to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):

KJV-- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.

“For God loved YOU so much that in knowing the price of the curse of the law and the torment of eternity that He sent His only begotten Son.

That whoever, didn’t matter their education, race, talents, nor the amount of money they had, but whoever would believe, trust and put their confidence in Him.

Would not be sick, depressed, in , have their things stolen or destroyed, nor spend eternity in hell, but instead would experience life more abundantly with health, prosperity, deliverance, liberty, joy and peace and then in eternity dwell in the presence of the All Mighty Lord.”

Confession: “God loved me so much He sent Jesus!”

“So I could enjoy my inheritance on earth and

in Heaven.”

I Jn 5:1

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God... (KJV)

In John 3:16 what did God love? (the world)

What was the world? (the people’s of the world)

Who did He send? (Jesus, the Christ)

For what purpose? (to not perish, but have life)

Who was it available to? (Whosoever would believe)

Is the “Whosoever” that believes in John 3:16 the same “whosoever” that is being talked about here in 1 John 5:1?

- So not only will I not perish

- Not only will I have everlasting life

- But I am born of God

Confession: “I am born of God”

“God is my Father”

Is there any significant value to have God as your father?

Is there any benefits of being born of God?

(I am talking about you personally that believe in Jesus)

I Jn 5:4

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (KJV)

“For whatsoever is born of God”

-Define a “whatsoever”

Is it not the same as the “whosoever” in John 3:16 and 1 John 5:1?

In fact if you go into the original Greek language that the scriptures were written in the exact same words were used that were translated “whosoever” and “whatsoever” in these verses.

Defined as:

including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole:

KJV-- all (manner of, means), alway (-s), any (one), + ever, every (one, way), as many as, X thoroughly, whatsoever, whole, whosoever.

“overcometh the world”

- is this world the same world as John 3:16? (no)

- John 3:16 is the people’s of the world here it is talking in context about the afflictions of the world.

the curse that is in the world

Everything that afflicts the peoples of the world

You are the overcomer.

You are the victor!

“this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith”

What makes all of this work? (faith)

All you have to do is believe that He is faithful

That it is for you.

That you can possess

He did all of this that you might have....believe it!

John 11:1-57

1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus,

-What is sickness

-Represents our inability, in fact the literal word means:

to be feeble (in any sense):

the root word means, “strengthless”

-represents everything that you need breakthrough in.

-the very fact that you need a breakthrough is because you don’t have the ability in yourself

to fix

3 Therefore (because he was sick or had the inability within himself to breakthrough this) his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

- Who does God love?

-Everyone say, “God love me, so He sent Jesus!”

4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto , but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

-He told them, This situation will not be the victor you will be the victor so God can receive the glory

-And whatever situations you are identifying that you need breakthrough in - God’s Word says that they it will not be the victor, but you will be the victor so that He can receive the Glory.

11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

-You look at areas of your life and you think they are .

-The appearance may even be that of

-They may even be wrapped in burial clothes

-you may have given up on them and put them in

their grave.

But I am telling you that according to the Word of God you are the Victor.

Your answer is just asleep and it is time we wake it up by the Word of God.

-You are the Victor.

-God loved you and sent Jesus so that you would not perish, but have life more abundantly

-You who have believed are the sons of God who overcome the world

Isa 55:11

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (KJV)

It cannot fail. God’s Word about you and what He has done for you cannot fail.

It can only prosper!

It can only accomplish the thing it was sent to do!

it was sent for you so that you could receive...so that you could possess.....so that you could enjoy!

17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.

-it doesn’t matter how long it has been

-it doesn’t matter how far gone it seems

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

>Look at the confidence

>It doesn’t matter the circumstance

>whatsoever you will ask of God, God will give it to you!

This is your heritage....this is your promise

39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone...

>People, the first thing we are going to have to do is take away the stone.

>Our confidence has to be in Jesus.

>The stone is placed on the grave because of the confidence in the .

40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

44 And he that was came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. (KJV)

>I’m telling you...God is going to raise the

>those things that you have thought would never come to pass He is going to give it to you

>Can you take the stone of unbelief off?

>Can you put your complete confidence in Him? He’s said that He’ll give it you.

It’s your promise and it’s your faith that will receive it.

Deut 7:22-23

The Lord instructing the Israelites as they are embarking on possessing what is legally theirs.

They needed breakthrough, they needed their enemies delivered into their hands,

That which stood before them posed a great threat unless God gave the increase.

There were many enemies, just as there are many areas of breakthrough that you need.

God told them He would give it to them, but He also told them how He would give it to them

22 And the LORD thy God will put out (breakthrough/deliver) those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.

23 But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. (KJV)

>He’s going to give them to us, and He is going to give us complete breakthrough and victory, but we will take them one at a time.

-First city was Jericho - they marched around it 7 days

-they had to do something

>What area for breakthrough are you willing to do what it takes to get?

- Identify one area - the other cities are there and we will get to them, but today and this week we are going to target Jericho.

> Bring to a decision and focus on the first area of breakthrough needed, that they will march around it with the Word of God no matter what appears - they will keep on the Word until the walls come down.
