9. Some might argue that the child might have possible physical or mental defects that would hinder it. For example

a. If a man has Syphilis and his wife has tuberculosis, and they had four children, one of which has already died, and the other three have what is considered a terminal illness. What would you say to do with the child she is currently pregnant with? A particular college class discussed this topic and decided that the mother should abort the child. To which the professor replied, “You’ve just killed Beethoven”.

10. In 1988 then President George Bush banned all federal funding of transplant of fetal tissue from induced abortions. Then twenty years later to the day. January 22, 1993, then President Bill Clinton, lifted that ban, his first week in office.

11. We in America and the Church are truly blind to the extent of how far this has gone. Just recently I looked on the internet and found out you can buy baby parts. Here are a few.

baby skin-100.00

baby ears-75.00

spinal column-150.00

eyes-75.00

I won’t even talk about the many other horrible stories, including partial birth abortion.

12. Is the bible silent on the subject of abortion. What does it say? Let’s explore scripture to see if we can come up with an answer.

a. Psalm 139: 13-16

b. Genesis 1: 26

c. Psalm 100: 3

d. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

Later on there in Ecclesiastes we see also that there is a time to be silent and a time to speak. The time to speak is now. The time for America and the Church is now here. Those four thousand unborn babies that we lose everyday, they very well could have been tomorrow’s soldiers, or doctor’s. A College professor once asked his students what they should do if two parents both had horrible diseases, and their other children were suffering already from terminal illnesses and they had just discovered they were pregnant. After much debate the class finally decided the couple should abort the child. To which the professor replied, “You just murdered Beethoven.” I think the Church’s first job is to preach and proclaim the message of Jesus Christ as Lord. However, I also know that the church needs to be more active in issues that affect our families. I have two reasons in my hand today why abortion is wrong. Sylvia and Gates. My brother and sister are both adopted. Would I have the wonderful siblings I have today, if their mother would chosen abortion? NO. What I want to do today. Is we are going to take up and offering. I think it is past time for the church to begin to get outside of these walls. To be proactive. End the sermon how you wish.
