ONE YEAR LATER
Acts 11:19-30 Hebrews 13:8
INTRODUCTION
Note: Verse 26
In this passage of Scripture we see that Paul had returned to Antiock with Barnabas , and for a whole year they labored there evangelizing, teaching, and preaching the Word.
I want you to note that in this early church the only change is souls being saved. A great harvest of souls being reaped.
I will admit some things do changed over the course of a year:
With Regard To Some Of Our Personal Life’s I Have Noticed.
1) Our Families Get Larger.
2) We Sometimes Get Larger.
3) Gray Hair Is Beginning To Emerge.
4) Some Of Us Need And Extra Pare of Eyes.
5) Grown Spiritually.
With Regard To Our Church.
1) We’ve Had Some Saved.
2) We’ve Had Some Join Us.
3) We’ve Had Some Leave Us.
4) We’ve Had Some Pass Through.
5) We’ve Had Some Good Times.
6) We’ve Had Some Bad Times.
Nevertheless, we made it through the year.
We don’t know what this next year may hold, however with all the things that have changed and that will change in the coming year, there are some things in doing the work of God that have not changed and must not change.
If Jesus is our example and their is no change in Him. How much more should the church, (the People of God the Christian) not change in Scriptural things.

I. ONE YEAR LATER THEIR MESSAGE WAS STILL THE SAME.

A. The Certainty Of Death. Death is coming to all.
B. The Certainty Of Judgment.
1. Lost--Great White Throne Of Judgment.
2. Saved--Judgment Seat Of Christ.
C. The Certainty Of Christ’s Death For Our Sins.
D. The Certainty Of The Second Coming Of Christ.
I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT...
II. ONE YEAR LATER THE MANUAL WAS STILL THE SAME.
II Timothy 3:16-17
A. The Bible Is The Source Of Our Faith.
Romans 10:17--"...faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
B. The Bible Is The Source Of Our Cleansing.
Psalm 119:9--"Wherewithal shall a young man..."
John 15:3--"Now ye are clean through the word ..."
C. The Bible Is The Source Of Our Growth.
I Peter 2:2--"As newborn babes..."
D. The Bible Is The Source Of Our Comfort.
I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT...
III. ONE YEAR LATER THEIR MINISTRY WAS STILL THE SAME.
II Timothy 4:1-2
Preach And Teaching The Word. Delivering the fundamental message.
B. Be Instant In Season, Out Of Season. Be ready when it is convenient and when it is not.
C. Reprove. To call sin what it is. To warn of the consequences.
D. Rebuke. To say don’t sin.
E. Exhort. To call near. Invite.
1. With All Longsuffering.
2. With Doctrine.
F. Watch. Be alert. I Peter 5:8--"Be sober, be vigilant..."
G. Endure Afflictions. II Timothy 2:3
H. Do The Work Of An Evangelist.
I. Make Full Proof Of Thy Ministry.
I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT...
IV. ONE YEAR LATER THEIR MANDATE WAS STILL THE SAME.
Mark 16:15--"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
A. Men Are Still Lost And Dying And On Their Way To Hell.
B. The Gospel Is Still The Power Of God Unto Salvation To Everyone That Believes. (Romans 1:16)
C. The Mandate Is Still The Same.
1) We Must Distribute More Tracts.
2) We Must Knock On More Doors.
3) We Must Share The Gospel With More People.
4) We Must Send More Missionaries.
I WANT YOU TO SEE THAT...
V. ONE YEAR LATER THEIR MIGHT WAS STILL THE SAME.
Ephesians 6:10-13
Zechariah 4:6--"Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
II Timothy 1:7--"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
If we are going to accomplish anything for God it will be in the power of the Holy Spirit, not in the power of the flesh.
Ephesians 5:18--"And be not drunk with wine wherein..."

CONCLUSION
One year later. So much has changed. So much has remained the same.
1. The Message Is The Same.
2. The Manual Is The Same.
3. The Ministry Is The Same.
4. The Mandate Is The Same.
5. The Might Is The Same.
6. The Motivation Is The Same.
